Brookdale Courtyard Puyallup

This community (caregivers, residents and leadership) took great care to welcome my loved one, and ease her adjustment. She has been there for a year, and loves living there. I feel comfortable that she is safe and cared for. They have a number of activities for residents of every interest. I would encourage you to take a tour of you are looking at senior communities.

Very unprofessional building, staff cannot get things done in a timely manner and management does absolutely nothing about my mother’s needs. Amongst the filth in my mother’s room there is only one housekeeper in the last 3 months of visiting. A shameful place, if you’re considering brookdale senior living. DO NOT recommend.

I wish I could give separate ratings for the director versus staff. Director: negative 100. Completely incompetent and dishonest. Staff: 500 stars. Staff loves the residents and goes above and beyond to take care of them. Director consistently lies to staff, families and residents. This leads to understaffing which leads to poor care. Also, there has been a bedbug infestation for 3 months and the director is hiding it, even from staff. This place has received multiple citations from the state for various other violations. Please don’t move your loved one here. *Edited to add that I and my family have shared these concerns in person with no adequate response. The director is dishonest and should be removed*

This review is long overdue. I started writing it many times when my mom was at Brookdale but never got it finished. Our mom moved into Brookdale Courtyard in November of 2022. She had to leave her home of 65+ years. It was one of the hardest decisions that we, as a family, had to make but Brookdale Courtyard made it just a bit easier. They were so kind and compassionate and helped my mom transition into her new life at Brookdale. From the admin office to the front desk, the caregivers, the dining room staff to the maintenance people and everyone in between…it was a perfect fit for our mom. She was safe and very well taken care of. Our family was there a lot. Some were regular weekly visits, but a lot were surprise visits. Everyone was always happy and friendly. Our mom lived there for 15 months, and we cannot say enough good things about Brookdale and would definitely recommend it to those looking for a safe environment for their loved ones. Thank you, Brookdale Courtyard, for everything. We are so grateful to you for all you did for our mom.

My uncle is a resident. He kept saying the food wasn't good, and one day I had lunch with my uncle at the facility . The food served to the residents looks delicious, but it's tasteless like chewing carpet, bland no flavor , taste like dog food no seasoning .
