Payment Options: In Michigan, Medicaid may help pay for assisted living through the MI Choice Waiver. Eligibility is based on both financial and functional criteria. Contact Michigan Department of Health and Human Services or visit https://www.michigan.gov/mdhhs/assistance-programs/medicaid/long-term-care to learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply. Wait lists are common for waiver programs, so applying early is recommended.
Families researching assisted living options should verify the facility's current license status, review any inspection reports, and schedule a visit to assess whether the environment and services meet their loved one's needs. The previous administrator was very rude and the new replacement is just the same. Dont be surprised if you are met with attitude or a smart comment. Not very friendly or welcoming for someone that is new to this facility. I have been here for years and have never had this many problems. She also does not follow through with requests/concerns or return calls after leaving her numerous voicemails and messages with the office. Came to her office myself and her door was shut. There are billing issues. We have to pay 2 months of rent at once right now cause of this. It took over a month for the grass to be cut after I reported it recently. It looked terrible. This place is going downhill but the rent keeps going up. They need to be investigated by the state of Michigan. We pay all this money for crumbs.
Great community, residents are friendly and welcoming. However, it's hard to get basic services from management and staff. My mother has been calling the office about her returned check all week. No answer most of the time. And when you do get someone to answer the phone, they don't know anything. Could not tell her anything about her missing check other than they put in in the mailbox. I found her check by accident...in the wrong mail slot. Really?
Facility is nice and clean. Fireplace in foyer and nice sitting area. Some things to know before moving in: l -Washer/dryer hookup is provided, but you must purchase your own appliances about $1,500-2,000 if you don't get an apartment w/appliances left behind. If you want a screen door, you must purchase on your own $150-$400, again if not left by prior tenant. Laundry offered onsite at a cost. - Rent will increase every year in January $50-$100 depending upon when you moved in. If you're on a budget this is important to know. - Must pay all utilities except water -No staff or security at night or on weekends -Maintenance request satisfactory - Office staff does not answer the phone nor return calls this is an area that needs to improve. Some are more pleasant than others. - Good activities, movies on a weekly basis, store, salon, vending machine, library room, bible study onsite. I hope this information helps.
I'd love to give more than two stars, unfortunately, I cannot as I'm unable to reach anyone at this community. It appears that Nikki, the leasing agent that showed me an available unit, no longer works there. I spoke briefly with Angela, who also works in the leasing office; the conversation was confusing and none of my questions were answered. I've called numerous times, hoping to speak with someone that could provide leasing information or instructions. My attempts have been unsuccessful and my messages have remained unanswered. Management: Please update your website to advise if there are available units or an open wait list. At the very least, please have the courtesy and professionalism to return phone calls.
Thus far I’ve only inquired & viewed a model in the high rise. Management is very professional & cordial. Grounds & property are well maintained. Many amenities are included or available at a nominal cost. The lobby & all public areas are decorated very nicely giving a welcoming atmosphere.
