I moved my mom here from an independent living center with the hope of allowing her to enjoy her independence and friendship in a smaller, yet wonderful community ... and that's exactly what I got here. More so, beyond the residents that live here, it's truly the staff, most specifically Holly and Sabrina, who make this particular facility absolutely amazing and outstanding! Without these two ladies, and the absolutely wonderful caretakers they hire and support, I am certain I would not be so dedicated to remaining here. Thank you to all the staff that tirelessly work here and give their all to making our elderly loved ones live a full and complete life.
Mom says the food is really good, and we love all the staff except the head nurse. Her name is Holly but we refer to her as nurse Ratchet. Holly Ratchet's ability to communicate is nearly zero. If we were basing this review on her alone it would get a negative number of stars.As long as you don't have to interact with the head nurse, the the facility is a five star in our book.
Spencer Place staff are superb. They all do a wonderful job caring for my 92 year old mother. The facility is clean and staff are cheerful and professional. I am always well informed of any health concerns or events involving mom. Such a wonderful place. I am so grateful. I highly recommend Spencer Place.
If you worked at chestnut Glen don’t mention it in your interview they won’t hire you 🤣🤣 but they are underpaid anyway so it’s no big deal
My mother and I toured several facilities. She did not care for the bigger senior living facilities at all. Then we toured Spencer Place. Half way through she turned to me and said "This feels like home". Three weeks later she moved in and has been there almost 5 months as I write this review. She loves everyone there and has her group of friends that keep her busy all day long. Staff is very caring, knocking on the door at meal & activity time to make sure all stay engaged. Many times when I visit, mom is too "busy" or in the middle of an activity to talk with me. That is just perfect, she is having the best time and is well taken care of by staff. I couldn't wish for more than that.
