Untrained staff and inappropriate mixture of various psych diagnoses.Food very Good when owners are not cooking.
Seneca Residential did a terrible job communicating with me regarding my mother’s well being. They never returned my phone calls, never updated us on visitation during Covid, and refused to cut my mother’s toenails for a year or more during the lockdown. The day I went to get her out of the facility, there was poop on the floor and my mother was laying in her own feces. The door had been propped open to air out the stench but I ended up cleaning my mother before we left. My mother’s room looked like a closet that was turned into a room and at one point there were buckets in her room to catch the rainwater. Before the Covid shutdown, I found my mother laying on a soiled mattress from her own urine without any sheets or mattress pad. When asked why nobody realized this, I was told that it was her responsibility to make her own bed. My mother has dementia and nobody cared enough to check her room. When I did get to visit, there was rat poop all over her shelves where she was hoarding food. I cleaned up the rat poop and tried to put her food in plastic containers so the rats could not get to it. A woman with dementia was expected to make good decisions about her hygiene, storage of food, etc. because they did not care enough to go into her room and check the conditions. I worried about her well-being the entire time she was there. It was evident they did not want people to come into the facility. A home health care nurse came in at the end to help with her needs and she was asked by management if I had facilitated the extra care for my mother. The nurse felt like she needed to lie to avoid repercussions toward the family. There is a reason they were against anyone coming in to help. The nurse discovered her medication list was not up to date and I am sure she saw other cases of neglect while she was in the facility. I just transferred my mother to Condor in Anderson and I can already tell a huge difference in the level of customer service. I feel welcomed as a family member and they go out of their way to answer my questions in a professional and caring manner. Stay away from Seneca Residential. It was a horrible experience! Family members are not welcome because they don’t want anyone to see how poorly that facility is managed.
I wouldn’t even give this place a one star rating but I did so I could leave a review. This place is horrible and the workers here DO NOT care about our family members. They aren’t cared for as they should be and it’s disgusting. I consistently worry about my grandmother’s health with her staying here. They don’t get fed right, they don’t get the stability, care or nurture they deserve. This place all in all is disgusting, lazy, uncaring & very unprofessional. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!
Do not tend to patient needs in a timely manner, do not keep family up to date when asked, leave residents locked in rooms for long periods of time with out checking on them or responding, are not family friendly! Never return calls or respond to family or loved ones concerns!
