Corby Place

I know someone who very recently moved in (so if something changes in the future I will change this review accordingly). I have visited a few times so far, and I've noticed that the staff are friendly and seem to genuinely care about the people who live there. The building itself is beautiful and an amazing piece of St. Joe history! It's clear that they take good care of the building - and the individual apartment itself is very nice! It has a full kitchen and a decently sized, easily accessible bathroom, with a surprising amount of closets/storage space. Also, the 14th floor has an observation deck with an unbelievable view of downtown!!

Where do I being? Corby Place is an exquisite building with wonderful architecture that has a lot of history and meaning for its residents. My mom lived there for over 5 years but sadly, we recently lost her. Neither of us could have been more pleased for her to have called Corby Place home. The apartments are clean and large enough to fit anything the residents could truly need or want to bring with them to make it feel like home. There are so many activities to keep the residents happy, entertained and engaged. My mom made all kinds of friends and I have stayed in touch with several of them even with her passing. They were her extended family. The residents are like a little village who look out for each other and genuinely care for each other. The staff is amazing. I live out of state and always felt welcome when I visited and rented the on-site furnished apartment. They kept me informed of everything that was going on, they face-timed me so that my mom and I could "see" each other. Marlene and the nursing staff are caring and trained, James the maintenance man is a jack of all trades and is so helpful and timely, and meals are very good and the kitchen staff are so friendly and loving to the residents. I could not think of a better place for my loved one to live. In fact, we have referred several people to Corby and they are very happy there as well. Thank you, Chris and all the staff for taking such good care of my mom as well as the other residents.

Our mother moved into Corby Place last September. It is an awesome place. The staff is very friendly and considerate, always willing to help. They offer 3 meals a day. The residents are able to take field trips, make crafts, listen to musicians and transportation is available for appointments (for a nominal fee.) There is a nurse on staff 24/7. It is reassuring to us that our mom is taken care of when we aren't there to take care of her. If you are considering a senior living facility we would highly recommend Corby Place you won't be disappointed. 😉

My father and mother have both lived, albeit separately, at Corby Place over the past 15 to 20 years. They each have enjoyed living there even though they would have preferred living in their own homes if that had been possible. They staff have been very supportive of my parents, always treat them with respect and kindness. The staff have also been very supportive of family members, allowing us to stay in the guest apartment when available and always answering our questions and concerns when we had them. The only reason I give it a rating of four is that there is a limited range of activities available to the residents unlike much larger facilities with hundreds of residents and more activities. All in all this is a really great facility for older adults.

The staff is very caring and helpful to the residents. Apartments are spacious and each have a full kitchen if one wanted to cook in the apartment. Three meals a day are provided and the food is good. Cleaning and laundry are also included in your monthly price. Nursing care available (for an extra cost). Beautiful building, outdoor patio area and activities are available throughout the day into early evening. Transportation is provided at a minimal cost to appointments. Outside trips are also planned with transportation provided—Walmart, restaurants and Chiefs training camp to name a few. Would highly recommend this place to any of my family or friends.
