Our family has had our mother-in-law at Sunrise of Staten Island for several years now, and I can honestly say we’ve had nothing but an outstanding experience from day one. The level of care here is truly exceptional. The clinical team knows her so well at this point, and they treat her with the same patience and warmth they’d show their own family. Anytime we’ve had a concern or a change in her needs, they’ve been right there guiding us, explaining everything, and making sure she’s comfortable and safe. The community itself is spotless every time we visit. You can tell the staff takes great pride in keeping everything clean, organized, and welcoming. Her room is always well kept, and the accommodations are truly beautiful. We are truly grateful for Sunrise of Staten Island, and we truly recommend this community.
Such a lovely home for my grandmother. The staff have been so kind and caring for her. We were so scared to make this move and they helped reassure us every step of the way.
Sunrise of Staten Island on Narrows Road - highly recommended. My mom lived there for several years and enjoyed a high quality of life thanks to the caring staff and warm environment. The facility is well-run from the top down - staff are friendly and genuinely care about the residents, facilities immaculate, food good and - importantly - administration is flexible and accommodating when issues (inevitably) arise. Has more of the feel of a Hilton Garden Inn than an assisted living home - that’s a good thing!
When my sister Johanna and I found out our dad had advanced-stage Alzheimer’s and dementia, it felt like the ground was pulled out from under us. We didn’t know what to do or where to turn, but finding Sunrise Assisted Living in Staten Island has been an absolute blessing. Dad lives on the Memory Care floor, which is locked and secure, and the staff there is truly amazing. They’re so loving and attentive, treating all the residents with care and kindness. You can tell they genuinely love what they do. One thing I really appreciate is that we have access to our dad 24/7. That kind of openness gives us so much confidence that they’re taking great care of him. What’s really made the difference is seeing how happy and engaged Dad is. He’s made friends, spends time doing crafts, and is always busy with activities. Knowing he’s in such a safe and supportive environment has given my sister and me so much peace of mind. We’re so grateful to the team at Sunrise. If you’re looking for a place where your loved one will be cared for like family, I can’t recommend them enough.
Would like to say there are SOME VERY special, hard, working people working and caring here for our loved ones. At reception there is , Linda, Anita, Janelle,Valery, musi, Vera,+ other very respectful, kind, sweet, 5 star woman working very hard. Faith the rudest, phone rep that I have ever dealt with. She sounds sweet,. But likes to hang up on you with no provocation. On the 2nd floor there are some very special people. To me they are angels and Saints. Janelle, Mia,lola Abby, Tori, Isata, Tammy, Porsha, Jennifer, Lisa, Lourdes, Sam, Andrea, Debby Hills, Vera, Lola, Erica, Kierra, + many others. Thank you so much for your help. May God bless you and your families tremendously. UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE ALSO A FEW VERY DISHONEST NASTY,UNKIND, MEAN, IMPATIENT,RUDE,UNRESPONSIVE PEOPLE WORKING ON THE 2ND FLOOR MEMORY WARD. ESPECIALLY IN THE EVENING. . I guess they think God has no memory also ! Well they are in for 1 big surprise. I lIVE 1200 MILES AWAY, AM DISABLED, AND 75. I cannot come to see my parent because of the shape that I am in, and They are very elderly. I call up every day to speak to my mom for a few min, and in the past have had some problems with a few mean workers. The people living on 2nd floor may have poor memories, but if you are mean to them they will still feel it. And they will feel frightened, anxious and confused if they are yelled at.. This is extremely upsetting when you have a 92 YEAR OLD parent that is VERY DEPRESSED, , tells you THEY ARE IN PAIN WORSE THEN FIRE , WISH THEY WERE DEAD, THEY THINK THEY ARE IN JAIL, THEY WANT TO GO HOME , AND YOU CANT EVEN COMFORT THEM because they have some people working THERE THAT yell at and frighten the people living there so they are afraid to move, or ask a question. AND THEY WILL NOT GET ON THE PHONE WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM ! Thank God for the wonderful workers that answer and the ones that ARE kind. I would really like to give them 5 stars. In fact I pray that God removes the ones that are unKind and brings more good, caring, loving, kind, and gentle people in their place to take care of our loved ones. PEOPLE THAT ARE GOD FEARING, People that know they will certainly be blessed for doing what is right, and reap the same evil when they are doing wrong. It is much better when JANELLE IS IN CHARGE . SADLY Mia that WAS in charge and very helpful LEFT. THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 5 DIFFERENT COORDINATORS THERE IN LESS THEN 2 YEARS. IT IS NO SURPRISE WITH SOME OF THE PEOPLE WORKING THERE. I am very PRAYFUL that things will improve. ALL MY LOVE TO THOSE WHO CARE FOR OUR LOVED ONES WITH KINDNESS, COMPASSION, AND AS IF THEY WERE THEIR OWN. ALL GODS BEST TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILIES !
