Silverado Thousand Oaks Memory Care Community
Silverado Thousand Oaks Memory Care Community
Silverado Thousand Oaks Memory Care Community is a licensed residential care elderly located in Thousand Oaks, California, specializing in memory care services for individuals with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia. Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) provide non-medical care and supervision in a homelike setting for people 60 years and older who are unable to live independently.
Services include assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management. RCFEs also provide meals, housekeeping, laundry, social activities, and 24-hour supervision. Many offer specialized care for residents with memory impairment.
Who We Serve: RCFEs serve older adults who need assistance with daily activities but do not require 24-hour skilled nursing care. Residents may include those with early to mid-stage dementia, mobility limitations, or chronic health conditions.
Memory Care Services: This facility offers specialized memory care services, including staff trained in dementia care techniques, activity programming designed for cognitive engagement, and appropriate safety measures. When evaluating memory care options, families should consider staff training, staff-to-resident ratios, security features, and the approach to managing behavioral symptoms.
Licensing: RCFEs in California are typically licensed by the Community Care Licensing Division of the California Department of Social Services under Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations.
Payment Options: In California, Medicaid may help pay for assisted living through the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW). Eligibility is based on both financial and functional criteria. Contact California Department of Health Care Services or visit https://www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/ltc/Pages/AssistedLivingWaiver.aspx to learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply. Wait lists are common for waiver programs, so applying early is recommended.
Families researching assisted living options should verify the facility's current license status, review any inspection reports, and schedule a visit to assess whether the environment and services meet their loved one's needs. You can verify this facility's license and view inspection reports at California's facility search. For more information about assisted living regulations in California, visit California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division.
Licensing requirements and regulations may change. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with your state's licensing agency.

I had the pleasure of leading a gentle yoga and sound bath session at Silverado Thousand Oaks. The courtyard was beautifully set up and created such a peaceful atmosphere. The staff were warm and compassionate, and I even got to meet Wolfy, their sweet resident dog! If you’re looking for a loving, well-rounded memory care facility, I highly recommend taking a tour of Silverado Thousand Oaks.
Silverado-Thousand Oaks took great care of my mother in her final months. All of the staff, from nurses, to care staff, kitchen, laundry, maintenance people, were 100% caring, professional, patient and helpful. My mother had dementia and I could tell that each of them had training in caring for residents like her. From her first day at Silverado to her last breath, she was made to feel a part of their family. In addition, the management Silverado T.O. far exceeded my expectations in their knowledge, responsiveness, and compassion. I could not imagine a better place for her during that time. I highly recommend Silverado-Thousand Oaks!
