Pacifica Senior Living Union City

I just toured Alvarado-Niles Senior Living yesterday. I wasn’t surprised at all. The place is exactly like the virtual tour. The folks I met were awesome, especially Tristan, very professional and courteous. I am hard of hearing but I have keen olfactory sense. The place smells clean and nice. I look forward to respite care there.

We had a very good tour given by Tristan. The facility is nice, clean, and well maintained. Price is considered quite reasonable.

I will not make this a lengthy review, though I find it extremely "Alarming" that this facility located in Union City CA., has a rating of 4 Stars. BLUF: If you truly care and value your loved one; do your research and find a service that will assist you in finding a reputable facility and BYPASS this one. One Positive ONLY!! -Medtech's though not nurses, do the "Best" they can. Negative: High attrition rate of Director, Management and accounting terminations, promoted lack of Communication to family members that such changes occured. Accounting Dept lost several checks and invoked a late fee to the tune "THOUSANDS of dollars $$ they are Inept." Cost transparency towards "level of care does not exist," this organization will continually upcharge the tenants by again thousands. Picture's speak for themselves, we moved our loved one out on the immediate, and let the new director know of our "disdain for this facility". Update in response to PSL comment as of 18 Feb 2025: Please note "I'm not a previous employee, nor under any pseudonym name, " Nor am I a Net "Bully. I'am a "direct family member" that voiced a true and transparent report on your Union City California facility, concerning your Management, and the excessive lack of accountability and assumption of any responsibility to correct the as stated "Negative" concerns. So we can agree. "Yes" do your research accordingly.

I had a tour last week and was really impressed with the clean and friendly atmosphere at this community. I was warmly greeted by the receptionist, Heard laughter in the kitchen and even enjoyed some impromptu entertainment of one of the residents playing his accordion in the lobby. The atmosphere was warm and homie. I really like the newly renovated flooring and the peanut butter cookies from the chef was a great touch! I could easily see myself playing the game of 21 when I’m ready for senior living. I also learned there’s a newly modeled 55+ apartments going in and pricing is very reasonable. This place is definitely worth checking out!

Words can't express how much we, as a family, appreciate the exemplary care our mother receives at Pacifica in Union City. The staff has always shown special interest and concern for each individual resident. This has created a family atmosphere that we can sense each time we visit. Any special needs have been met with warmth and patience. Our mother knows the names of all the care givers because they have formed true bonds of friendship. We enjoy reacting to all the planned activities that brighten the residents’ days with energy and humor. Most telling of all, after we take Mom to our homes, doctor’s appointments and excursions, she always says, “Time to take me home.” A big thank you to the leadership at Pacifica for fostering this wonderful environment that continues to keep our mom safe and happy. -The Daughters of Mary Berbel
