After my dad passed away in October, we felt Brookdale was the best place for my mother. The staff truly cares—not just for her, but for all the residents. I really enjoy seeing how they interact with everyone; their kindness is genuine. Just last week, my mom had about five family members visiting. One of the staff members stopped by, noticed the gathering, and came back shortly with ice cream for everyone. It’s those small, thoughtful gestures that make such a meaningful difference.

While touring numerous care facilities, one morning I stopped by Brookdale Dementia and Alzheimer’s Care, I immediately felt this was a good place to care for my loved one. Over several years, I have observed Brookdale staff interact with residents; they display such kindness and patience toward all residents that it makes me feel comfortable knowing my brother is being cared for in the same manner. I also appreciate the prompt personal contact when a situation arises and weekly newsletter keeping all loved ones informed. Recently they have started a Memory Care Support Group. It is important to keep our loved ones engaged. A daily agenda lists various types of activities. Most afternoons residents enjoy a light snack followed by music in the game room. Familiar songs are played with lyrics displayed on screen. You would be surprised to hear most everyone singing and swaying along. It is a pleasure to sing with them.

Working with Brookdale Memory Care East has been an exceptional experience. Their team is professional, responsive, and truly invested in creating a successful partnership with our team at Our Ks Guardian HomeHealth and Hospice. Communication has been seamless, expectations clearly set and exceeded, and the results have spoken for themselves. We all have or know someone with a dementia / alzheimers story . Everyone’s story is different. The staff at Brookdale East have from the start been, first of all compassionate but also professional in their care and have shown that the residents are individuals that deserve patience and dignity . It began with Rick showing us around and explaining things to Jennifer taking time to listen to our specific concerns, to Colleen walking mom around outside on her first nite here, to Taylor putting water in the bird bath outside her window. As the family of a new resident we are very grateful for their care and experience.
