Home Health Companions
Home Health Companions
Home Health Companions is a homecare agency serving Dallas, Texas and surrounding areas. Homecare agencies provide non-medical personal care services that allow individuals to remain safely in their homes while receiving assistance with daily activities.
Services provided by homecare agencies typically include personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming), companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, transportation to appointments, and respite care for family caregivers.
In Texas, homecare agencies are typically regulated by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and generally must maintain a Personal Assistance Services (PAS) Agency License. Texas requires licensure as a Personal Assistance Services Agency for non-medical home care.
Payment Options: In Texas, Medicaid may help pay for homecare services through programs like STAR+PLUS, Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS). These Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers help eligible individuals receive care at home instead of in an institutional setting. Contact Texas Health and Human Services or visit https://www.hhs.texas.gov/services/health/medicaid-chip/programs-services/long-term-care to learn about eligibility and how to apply.
When selecting a homecare agency, consider factors such as caregiver screening procedures, training requirements, supervision practices, and the agency's responsiveness to client needs and concerns. Visit Texas Health and Human Services Commission for more information about homecare services in Texas.
Licensing requirements and regulations may change. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with your state's licensing agency.

Do not and I mean DO NOT use this service. I tried this service for one day. My wife was bed ridden, this was discussed before signing with service. The lady that was tasked with caring for my wife did a bad job of cleaning my wife. She let poop fall on floor and stated I’m not cleaning that up. She made the mess. I had clean up mess and direct her to areas on wife that she didn’t clean. This lady was aware of the care needed and failed the necessary care. Lady did not show next day. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Home Health Companions.
Lisa and her team are great. They spend a lot of time and energy focusing on how to provide the best care possible for their clients. If you live in the Dallas or the greater Dallas area, I would recommend you call them to discuss you home care needs so your loved ones can age-in-place safely at home.
My Client had a issue with back up oxygen machine. Mrs Debra (RN) for Home Health Companion. Came out and assisted Client and I. Mrs Debra did not leave until oxygen machine was delivered and client was receiving the proper oxygen. Mrs Debra helped us out alot. I loved that Mrs Debra made sure everything was exceeded before she left
I hired HHC in February to help take care of my father. At first things were great and I was very pleased. As time progressed it was made clear that they were very good at taking the talk without actually walking the walk. They cut off my communication with Caregivers and began inserting themselves into the medical aspect of my dad’s care. Despite my hesitations, I trusted them. At one point the RN felt a medication change was needed, and went to one doctor to say the other doctor recommended a change, and told the second doctor that the first doctor had recommended the change. She played them against each other, so a decrease in medication was ordered. Within 7 days my dad decompensated significantly and I had to call his doctor on a Sunday night which is when I found out the manipulation by the RN that took place. I reached out to the RN who informed me that she wasn’t going to go over to my father to give him the additional medication because she had a long weekend already. I ended up going over there to ensure my father had correct medication. After that they were not changing my father and he was wetting himself, the apartment wreaked of urine and honestly, the conditions were inhumane. We finally switched home health agencies and I just wish I had known the issues sooner. The two women in charge will twist words and give a perception that things are fine; it takes seeing things for yourself to realize that they are not following through. Also, they insist on having 2 caregivers for a 24 hour period which requires paying for 8 hours of overtime daily. In my opinion, they’re taking advantage of people who are just trying to do what’s best for their loved ones. If you use this agency, I would strongly suggest you exercise caution and ensure that someone in your family is local to check up on things. Actions speak louder than words.
Debra Fleming is absolutely wonderful to work with. She took the time to explain their services and has gone above and beyond with her care team to make sure our needs are not only met but exceeded our expectations. The urgency for the care we needed was expedited as our needs changed. She is always caring, kind and available for any concerns I have. I highly recommend Home Health Companions and Debra & team. Thank you care givers for all you do!
