Samaritan Home Health
Samaritan Home Health
Samaritan Home Health is a homecare agency serving Hughson, California and surrounding areas. Homecare agencies provide non-medical personal care services that allow individuals to remain safely in their homes while receiving assistance with daily activities.
Services provided by homecare agencies typically include personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming), companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, transportation to appointments, and respite care for family caregivers.
In California, homecare agencies are typically regulated by the California Department of Social Services and generally must maintain a Home Care Organization (HCO) Registration. California requires registration as a Home Care Organization. Caregivers are generally required to be registered through the Home Care Aide Registry.
Payment Options: In California, Medicaid may help pay for homecare services through programs like In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Home and Community-Based Alternatives Waiver. These Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers help eligible individuals receive care at home instead of in an institutional setting. Contact California Department of Health Care Services or visit https://www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/ltc/Pages/AssistedLivingWaiver.aspx to learn about eligibility and how to apply.
When selecting a homecare agency, consider factors such as caregiver screening procedures, training requirements, supervision practices, and the agency's responsiveness to client needs and concerns. Visit California Department of Social Services for more information about homecare services in California.
Licensing requirements and regulations may change. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with your state's licensing agency.

My parents have lived here for 8 years and the quality of services has declined significantly. They have so many meals they are required to buy each month. We went to visit my parents and they would not Oder from the deli. We went out to lunch instead. Historically they have been very happy with the meals. The manager is not a chef and the quality of the food has gone down significantly. The manager is rarely present and the food is dry, salty, and poorly cooked. My parents have resorted to ordering from the grocery store and cooking at home. They say the meals are inconsistent and they have complained without any response. They are talking about leaving there.
My father in law has been at Samaritan Village for a little over a year. He is residing in the Country Manor assisted living area of the facility. We just love Samaritan Village. The caregivers truly care about him and we are very pleased with the facility. We are proud to bring family and friends to see Dad at Samaritan. The facility is clean and the grounds are so beautiful. When you visit Samaritan Village you can tell a lot of care is taken to keep this facility looking beautiful and we appreciate it so much. The staff is always so helpful and kind. We also enjoy eating with Dad in the main dining room at the facility. The food is quite good and it is so convenient to eat there when we are short on time but want to spend some time eating with him and visiting. To say this is the best decision we have ever made bringing him out here from the bay area and into Samaritan Village.is an understatement. We are beyond happy having him here. I highly recommend Samaritan Village to others! Carole McFarlane
Once or twice a month we drive from Modesto to have breakfast with our friend. I am sorry to say the meal generally is not very good. Last week after waiting a lengthy time we had to go find the order taker to place our order. One person in our group wanted a tea bag, she said so to the order taker but never got it. Another in our group ask to have his eggs VERY well cooked, he stated "even if they are crispy" all the better!, he got them over medium. He and I also ask to have the bacon very well done, didn't happen. In short no one in the group got what they had requested. The facilities are very nice and the staff at the lobby desk are most friendly and helpful. I do hope these last few visits were the exception and our experiences will be better in the future.
