This business doesn’t deserve this one star. Please do not use this company to take care of your loved ones. I will share my experience. The name of the business does not line up with the the behavior of the person that was sent to care for the patient. Her name was Fatima or Fatimah. Her first contact was by phone with the patient and it seems that the conversation caused her to harbor an attitude since then. When she arrived she didn’t display a name badge from the employer nor willingly announce her name or the name of the facility who sent her. The caregiver asked her name and she reluctantly provided the first name only and she asked if her client lived there then abruptly brushed pass the caregiver. This was so noticeable that the patient mentioned it after she left. Despite this the caregiver treated her with respect and kindness. Fatima’s attitude and demeanor clearly showed that she didn’t want to be there. It was very evident by her actions, and tone. She was unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful towards the patient and caregiver. She arrived without any medical supplies. Told the patient to purchase his own supplies. The patient has Medicare and it would seem that the correct procedure would be to contact the doctor to order the supplies that was needed. She didn’t want to answer any questions or simply state that any questions should be directed to her employer. This was the patient’s first time with a visiting nurse and didn’t know what to expect but when the caregiver asked Fatima questions, she became combative every time while moving into the caregiver’s space. Fatima was overheard on the second day telling the patient that he had an infection. She asked him when his next doctor visit was. This was Wednesday and he told her next Tuesday. When the caregiver asked about the infection, she stated well since he’s going to see his doctor on Tuesday (6 days away) he can wait. The patient is diabetic with insulin and an amputee. She was there to care for an open wound. She provided an incredibly unacceptable response. She had the responsibility as a care professional to say that he should contact his doctor or go to the emergency room immediately. The caregiver asked would she report her findings or the patient’s results to his physician, her response was “I don’t know.” This answer was the final outcome that the decision was made that she had to be dismissed. She was told to leave the home and her assignment there was over although she was to supposed to there for three weeks. She says, “I didn’t come to argue only to take care of my patient, you’re trying to tell me my job.” The caregiver said, “I’m not doing that I simply asked you a question and you said you don’t know? Fatima, please leave my home!” She threw up her hands in the air as if she was dancing and stated, loudly “Thank you, thank you! Why did you wait so long!” I contacted Shalom Nursing Care LLC to report my complaint and left a voicemail but the management didn’t have the decency to return my call, to apologize to the patient. This type of behavior does not support healthcare. Your employees are a reflection of your business. If this is the representation and non response that they have what does it say about their management and business. DON’T USE THEM!! Or if they send you Fatima contact them directly and ask for another visiting nurse. She didn’t come in Shalom and didn’t leave with it. DO NOT USE SHALOM NURSING CARE, LLC!!
