Cardinal Senior Care
Cardinal Senior Care
Cardinal Senior Care is a homecare agency serving San Antonio, Texas and surrounding areas. Homecare agencies provide non-medical personal care services that allow individuals to remain safely in their homes while receiving assistance with daily activities.
Services provided by homecare agencies typically include personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming), companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, transportation to appointments, and respite care for family caregivers.
In Texas, homecare agencies are typically regulated by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and generally must maintain a Personal Assistance Services (PAS) Agency License. Texas requires licensure as a Personal Assistance Services Agency for non-medical home care.
Payment Options: In Texas, Medicaid may help pay for homecare services through programs like STAR+PLUS, Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS). These Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers help eligible individuals receive care at home instead of in an institutional setting. Contact Texas Health and Human Services or visit https://www.hhs.texas.gov/services/health/medicaid-chip/programs-services/long-term-care to learn about eligibility and how to apply.
When selecting a homecare agency, consider factors such as caregiver screening procedures, training requirements, supervision practices, and the agency's responsiveness to client needs and concerns. Visit Texas Health and Human Services Commission for more information about homecare services in Texas.
Licensing requirements and regulations may change. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with your state's licensing agency.

The Cardinal caregivers provided excellent personal care to both of my parents for over 2 years before they passed under hospice. The 3 main caregivers took their job very seriously and treated my parents like their own family members. They were reliable and one of them remained with my parents for almost the whole 2 years. My parents became very fond of them all. The office staff was very responsive and always came through when we would call at the last minute needing extra care hours beyond our normal schedule. As the family member who oversaw my parents care, having Cardinal was a lifesaver and helped me breathe easier know they were on the job. Highly recommend this company.
I would not recommend applying here. My experience during orientation was very unprofessional. I’m not sure what the office staff’s title was, but the woman named Mary was rude and had a very unpleasant attitude from the moment I walked in. She asked “Can I help you?” in a tone that made it clear she was annoyed. When I explained my availability, including that I was able to work overnights and could travel if needed, she immediately told me there were no cases near my area. I repeated multiple times that I was willing to travel, but she responded that she didn’t think it would work out. Despite that, she still had me start orientation, but rushed me through it and didn’t even allow me to finish the training videos. She handed me a packet with login instructions and told me someone named Mark would contact me. I waited the entire day for Mark’s call, never received one, and when I followed up by text, he said he was in a meeting and would call afterward but he never did. The next day, I called the office and was given no real explanation. I asked for Mary, was transferred, and no one answered. I left a voicemail, and when Mary finally returned my call, she told me they decided not to bring me on because there were no clients nearby even though I had clearly stated I was willing to travel multiple times. Not once during orientation did she tell me I was not being brought on. Instead, she rushed me out and made it seem as if I had the job. This was unorganized, unprofessional, and a complete waste of time. For a healthcare organization, customer service and communication should be a priority and it definitely was not here
Find another service for your loved ones. This place has unreliable associates. I know this is a hard and demanding job so its no one's fault. However, their care givers constantly dont show up and leave you just basically to fend for yourself last minute. However a carer by the name of jonathan Murillo and Olga were amazing! I hope they get a pay raise and find better management company. Because this place is unreliable Update its been 4 months since ive attempted to use this service and there has been no change canceled at last minute no replacement. Leaving families in tough position.
The caregiver for my loved one is very helpful and the staffs communicate pretty well every time we have problem. They coordinate the process smoothly. Recommend to anyone who needs home care service!
This company was hired through Bright Horizons to provide sit in child care for our son today at 9a. They No Called No Show. Now we're scrambling to find care before our appointments at the last minute. A formal complaint has been made with Bright Horizons as this is a paid benefit through my husband's employer. Update: In response to the reply. You did not call and your provider did not show up. When Bright Horizons called you 10 min into being late at 9:10a, your facility response was, "We get alerted once a care giver is 10 min late and the bell hasn't alerted us." At that time, while still on the phone with the Bright Horizons representative, she then sent the information to their escalations department as we still needed care. Once 9:30a arrived with still... No call from your facility and no provider showing up. Bright Horizons canceled the contract so that they will not pay you for services that you did not provide. A no call no show is when you book a service and no one communicates with you (no call) and no one shows up to provide the service (no show). If we book a service for 9a, we expect 9a not and hour later. Or in this situation, 30 minutes late. You made us late to our appointment from being unreliable.
