All the caregivers who helped me with my husband were very supportive, kind and reassured me he would receive excellent care until he died. Sebastian helped me when my husband started hospice at my home and stayed with me until the funeral home picked him after he died. Those who seek home-care services, either for ourselves or for a beloved family member, likely know that the difference between a good home-care agency and an exceptional one has to do with many factors, beyond simply providing for one’s physical health needs. Certainly, excellent health/medical care is a critical requirement, but quality of life is far more complex than physical health alone. I’ve had the good fortune to work with Pacific Coast Home-Care in recent months, which is managing in-home care for one of my family members, and I have been extremely impressed by the way in which my family member’s care has been handled. The excellent caregivers, as well as the gerontologist and client care manager with whom I communicate on a regular basis, are passionate about their work and their commitment to their clients. They are compassionate, attentive, and genuinely interested in their clients’ lives and well-being. They pay attention not only to medical needs and doctor visits, but to the quality and comfort of the home environment, their clients ability to pursue PT or other forms of therapy, the client’s family and social network, nutritional needs, and any potential risk factors posing a threat to their clients’ safety. Just as importantly, they view each client as a “whole person”: an individual with a distinct personality, interests, values, and a personal history that defines who they are. The agency is highly devoted to optimizing their clients’ happiness, ensuring their dignity, and recognizing their right to determine the direction of their lives and health care. This perspective is critical to quality of life, and something we all hope for, when we reach the point in our lives that requires depending on others for support and assistance. For all of these reasons, there is no agency I could recommend more highly than Pacific Coast Home-Care.

Barbara Collelo and everyone else with Pacific Home Care were extremely professional and very helpful with providing in home care for my stepmom, following her hospitalization and post acute care. Our family is grateful and would recommend them highly.
