Home Instead

Approximately one year ago we were approved to receive in-home care for my husband and we chose Home Instead. The Veteran’s Administration approved two days a week for six hours a day. Sami made an in-home visit to assess our situation, placing Tim with my husband. It was a perfect fit! Tim is very kind and helpful. He assists with personal hygiene and caregiving. He is quite pleasant and very dependable. It is a huge relief to be able to run errands, attend doctor’s appointments, etc. and leave my husband in Tim’s care. I never have to worry. Our entire overall experience with Home Instead has been very pleasant. We have and will continue to refer our friends needing your services.

Professional, Excellent, and Helpful in-home care for my aging father. After a January fall and 3 week hospital stay in Lincoln IL, I was connected with Springfield's locally owned and operated HomeInStead team to aid in transitioning my father back into his home. The friendly staff and easy terms made all the difference during this critical time for our family and my father's care. Our caregiver was helpful and friendly and I can happily share successful in providing the needed additional help to my mom and family to make important adjustments to care for my dad. Office Advocate Gina was wonderful to work with. We fell in love with Caregiver Missy who started day one until we had to place Dad in an extended care facility 2 years later! Shifts were always covered when we needed extra time.

I can't say enough great things about Home Instead. My parents were reluctant to have someone in their home. Sammy visited my parents several times to answer all their questions. She even came out the first day of services. My parents ended up being thrilled to have someone help with meals and laundry. My mom needed help showering and the folks from Home Instead were gentle and supportive. They had several different people at their home. Every one of them was AWESOME! I contracted with Home Instead to provide companionship for a friend suffering from early onset Alzheimer's, beginning in August 2024 until April 2025. The staff worked M-F for a total of 20 hours per week. In addition to companionship and activities, they provided attention to her apartment and personal needs including hygiene. Each and every one of their staff provided an extraordinary level of care and friendship to someone who sorely needed it. I am so impressed by what I observed. I would not hesitate to recommend this service to another.
