Brightstar Traverse City care is very inconsistent. While we like our "regular" aide when she is available, a substitute for our regular aide was very young & clearly untrained/uncomfortable. Extremely poor communication when staff calls out. I was informed at 12 noon on Wednesday that my regular aide would not come at 1:30pm. When I protested I was promised and confirmed for an aide the next day. The 2nd aide never showed up. The office staff is always very apologetic, but Brightstar has no back up plan. The whole point of paying an agency is to manage staff for their clients - unfortunately Brightstar fails at this. Too many layers of management resulting in high fees, but not enough staff to handle the work of caring for patients. I do not recommend contracting with Brightstar of Traverse City.
My family and I were looking into a company to help take care of my 100+ year old grandpa. Everything started out great until almost every day now they have to keep calling off and no one is there to take care of him. This leaves my family having to drop their plans to go do BrightStars job that we are paying them to do. Very upsetting
The nursing team at BrightStar who cared for me were highly educated and compassionate. Can't say enough good things about Lauren and Maria. They worked around my busy schedule, and their expertise gave me the confidence I needed. Highly recommend this team!
Great caregivers, but poor communication from office staff in the event of caregiver call in or time off request, and inconsistent availability and scheduling. Never had a primary and backup caregiver as discussed during initial consult.
Worked with BrightStar Care of Northern Michigan while in the area for a family wedding, specifically for a caregiver to babysit for two young children for one evening. Can’t say enough good things about our experience. The administrative team we worked with were fast to respond, reliable, and kind. The process was thorough which did give us peace of mind. Our caregiver was wonderful and we felt so at ease knowing the kids were in good hands! Highly recommend working with BrightStar in Northern Michigan!
