Hillendale has been providing care for my mother 7 days a week. We met Nicole, our care manager when we first setup home care from our mother. She understood our situation with my brother also living at home with my mother and has setup qualified caregivers who my mother has enjoyed having at home to take care of her. Greshia, Maria, Veronica, and Heidi have all been great working with our mother. My mother particularly enjoyed making crafts with Greshia! Nicole has been wonderful to work with as she keeps my sister and I appraised of new developments and is always accessible when questions arose. The homegivers she was able to arrange for my mother have been excellent! The care has been outstanding and I’m quite glad we have Hillendale providing care for my mother. Exceptional Care When It Mattered Most Hillendale provided outstanding 24/7 care for my cousin, who lived alone in Berkeley. As someone managing his care from 1,800 miles away, I cannot overstate how exceptional their service was in every respect. Hillendale was able to staff qualified caregivers on just one day's notice of hospital discharge. Throughout his care, I received detailed shift reports documenting medications administered, meals consumed, specific care provided, and household tasks completed. This comprehensive communication gave me peace of mind during an difficult time. Keri, the care manager, was in daily contact with me and always accessible when questions arose. The individual caregivers went above and beyond, proactively recommending adjustments to keep my cousin safer and more comfortable. The Hillendale team worked seamlessly with the hospice staff, demonstrating both expertise and compassion in providing the specialized care required. In my cousin's final hours, Keri was at his bedside and facilitated a phone connection so I could say my goodbye. I'm grateful for her thoughtfulness in making that final conversation possible. We’ve had a fantastic experience with Hillendale Home care for 6 months now. Ane and Mady, our consistent daytime shift workers have provided thoughtful and empathetic care for my 90 and 94 yr old grandparents. We would not have been able to navigate such a difficult season of health problems without their quality of care. They’ve truly been like family this year and I highly recommend this company.

My parents both received home care from Hillendale. The team was excellent. We had 4 caregivers, all of whom are excellent, caring, and reliable. My mom passed last year and my dad just passed recently. There were two caregivers who worked day shift (Rowena & Sharon) and two others who worked night shift (Mernalyn & Ethel). They all worked seamlessly together and got along great with each other, with my parents, with me, my siblings, and our families. Previously, I had worked with other agencies and had caregivers who did get along well with each other. I also had to work with a lot of caregivers who had very little training. Over the years, I've worked with about 5 different agencies and none could compete with Hillendale. This team was great in filling each other in, keeping me informed, and were extremely kind to my parents. They keep me informed every day and my dad adored them (as did my mom). My dad liked to sing "Row Row Row your boat" to remember Rowena's name. She is kind, loving, helpful, intelligent, has extensive training, and is a fantastic team player. She is much smaller than my Dad but could handle all of dad's needs even when he became bedridden. Sharon, was also kind, friendly, loving, helpful, intelligent and has extensive training. She was always willing to help and when she could tell I was tired or stressed, she would tell me all would be fine and I could go home without worrying (and she was right). She kept me well informed and was very easy to communicate with, as was Rowena. Since Rowena & Sharon worked day shift, they got to know me and my siblings well. The evening shift, Ethyl & Mernalyn, were also excellent, knowledgeable, compassionate, and also great team members. When my dad passed in the middle of the night, Mernalyn called me immediately and was very kind and loving. I went to the house immediately with my husband and Mernalyn stayed and comforted me while we waited for the Hospice nurse and then the mortuary. All four, truly loved my family and my parents. I trusted them all completely. They made my stress much better since they always got along and became real friends with each other. They also all worked well with our PT & Nurse from Ace Home Health. All of them were able to care for a 160 lb man who was 5' 11" even though each caregiver was petite. All of them had great communication skills and could also text and answer questions easily. Hillendale is the best agency we have ever had. Susan Wondrusch, who helped from the start to find a great team, and also kept coverage and everything else running smoothly. I never had to work at my Dad's house myself when a caregiver suddenly couldn't work. They always had quality backup caregivers, and most times, each of them were able to cover for each other. They also had staff members who could come in the beginning to help with training. One is an RN, Victoria, and she could come to the rescue to help when a caregiver was new or there was an emergency. Diane Zink in billing is also great and accurate with bills. I have recommended Hillendale may times and would definitely recommend all of the employees we worked with. I miss seeing them and talking to them and recommended each of them for other families who need quality caregivers. Unlike other agencies, Hillendale's caregivers are definitely well trained and experienced vs. some other places who interview people online and don't provide training. They also really care about their patients!!! Hillendale is the best.
