Amedisys Hospice
Amedisys Hospice
Amedisys Hospice is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Canton, Michigan and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.
Medicare covers hospice services with no cost to patients for most services, including medications for symptom control, medical equipment, and 24-hour access to care. For more information about hospice benefits, visit Medicare.gov. Compare hospice providers at Medicare Care Compare.
Quality data and provider information are updated periodically by CMS. We recommend verifying current information at Medicare Care Compare.

I would not recommend this hospice to anyone who cares about their loved one. My mother went through the one in Canton, MI. She was on with them for over 2 years. She has a trach and is on oxygen. They tried to basically force me to put her in a nursing home once I took her out, they continually ordered the wrong accessories for her and then tried to tell her she has to figure out a way to use them and let her run out of pain meds regularly. The nurse was coming once a week but they were billing Medicare for 3-4 days a week. The aide barely showed to help with showers. The director of nursing Monica is extremely rude and does not care about her patients well being. She would scream at my mom anytime she called her. John the office director is just as bad. Lied right to my face about the what the nurse practitioner said. I went all the way to the corporate office twice. First time I dealt with Brenda who tried to help, ordered a meeting and things went ok for a couple months. Then the next time I needed her help she no longer worked there and I had to speak to Mindy who basically just blew me off. I switched my mother to another hospice and I tell you its like night and day. I had no idea that hospice offered that many services. The new hospice has came took her for walks, spent time talking to her about her concerns and needs. I could go on and on. If your family member needs hospice search around and read reviews to get the real deal on these places.
