Absolute Hospice
Absolute Hospice
Absolute Hospice is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Friendswood, Texas and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.
Medicare covers hospice services with no cost to patients for most services, including medications for symptom control, medical equipment, and 24-hour access to care. For more information about hospice benefits, visit Medicare.gov. Compare hospice providers at Medicare Care Compare.
Quality data and provider information are updated periodically by CMS. We recommend verifying current information at Medicare Care Compare.

Absolute hospice has been taking care of my dad for the last fifteen months until his passing. Emmy, Rachel, Donna, and Claudia we're fantastic. They listened to our concerns and helped where they could. They had a great team together with the Emmy and Shanna the social worker. About a year in a change was made to the head nurse and our social worker were changed to Tiffany as nurse and Robert, her husband as social worker. This seemed a little unethical. Robert accompanied her many times for her nurse visits with no apparent reason for being there. I'll have to check to see if we were billed for that. Neither ever had any solutions for the issues my dad was facing with his incontinence and uti. On numerous occasions our concerns about an ongoing urinary tract infections and ways to keep him dry we're ignored and no solutions offered. They were ignored until the infection eroded through the bladder wall and caused fistula openings through the skin. they were ignored until his skin tore from being wet all the time. according to tiffany, there was no infection because there was no fever. Most often there is no fever with bladder infections. she didn't know that there were products out there that may help such as booster pads for the underpants to pull the moisture away from him. I found that out on my own. Had we known about these things early on, he may not have had to suffer with all the open wounds from being bedridden. the end my Dad was mostly non verbal, but made meaningful nods of yes and no to questions up to the day of his passing. He was still able to drink water and swallow. When we, the family were discussing this the morning he passed, Tiffany, sitting in another room at the kitchen table interjected that when she was there a couple days before he was not making any meaningful communication. This was absolutely out of line and unprofessional for her to even interject anything. What benefit was there for her to even enter our conversation? she didn't listen when we told her he had an infection. she didn't listen when we needed help keeping him dry. she argued with us about his communication and the infection even after his passing. She was more concerned about being right than actually being there for our family.
Absolute hospice is a friendly and caring agency for the elderly and disabled and ill patients that need the extra care. I have been on palliative care for months, which means that I have nurses, medication, hospital bed, wheelchair, oxygen and other supplies loaned to me for as long as I need them. I’m grateful for everyone involved. THANK YOU
