STAR HOSPICE

"On Friday, July 22, 2022 Mary Horkan [Patient Care Manager, Star Hospice in Evergreen Park, IL] called my Dad [a hospice care patient] to inform him that, "I was harassing her staff!" This is what Mary Horkan considers "harassment": Asking the Star Hospice staff about my Dad's progress.? Asking about the doctor's role with my Dad's hospice care.? Asking [IF] the medication prescribed by "their doctor" can be better adjusted. Just to see if the medication change 'can make a difference'.? Can a hospice care patient receive a blood test to 'check for anaemia' ? As I told my Dad.  "Any organization that has a problem with family members asking QUESTIONS! It's something WRONG with that organization! " She now wants my Dad to 'put in writing'..."What I can know, and whom can tell me!" I only have one Dad, and I will obey his wishes. However, if you are looking for a transparent organization...DO NOT SELECT STAR HOSPICE...PLEASE!!!! I NO longer TRUST [my Dad's Social Worker or CNA]!!! I forgot to add that Mary Horkan, 'hung up on me' ! How's that for professionalism?! It's 9:01 P.M., I regret inviting Elizabeth to come and meet with my Dad on Monday, July 19. 2021. I should have met with other Hospice Care organizations. But, I was desperate to get my Dad the hospice care he immediately requested! When the time comes for my Dad. I will spend the 'rest of my life' campaiging against hospice care managers like, Mary Horkan. This vile individual took advantage of my Dad, and I will NEVER FORGET HER COWARDLY, HEARTLESS, INSENSITIVE ACTIONS, TODAY! "
