Seva Hospice
Seva Hospice
Seva Hospice is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Salida, California and surrounding areas, with specialized programs to honor and serve veterans at end of life. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Veteran Services: This hospice offers specialized programs for veterans, recognizing their unique experiences and needs at end of life. Services may include pinning ceremonies, connections to veteran peer volunteers, and staff trained in military culture and veteran-specific issues such as PTSD, Agent Orange exposure, and combat trauma.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.
Medicare covers hospice services with no cost to patients for most services, including medications for symptom control, medical equipment, and 24-hour access to care. For more information about hospice benefits, visit Medicare.gov. Compare hospice providers at Medicare Care Compare.
Quality data and provider information are updated periodically by CMS. We recommend verifying current information at Medicare Care Compare.

Seva Hospice did an incredible job communicating, attentive to all our needs of not only our loved one, but to the family as well. Im thankful for them being a part of this journey. They even went so far as to dedicate a beautiful rose bush in her honor.
Excellent organization. I couldn’t ask for better care for my mom. Our team is so supportive and caring. Trish and Alyssa are so compassionate and give my mom excellent care.
Equipment was old, fought with suction machine (old), Oxygen machines were old, one didn’t work, the other so loud no one can sleep. The medication was terribly administered, we had to crush pills and then put the solution under the tongue. He was full of mucous and probably got a portion of the dose. There has to be a better way. I heard these guys were the best. That is not our experience! We asked for a lift to assist in turning him and were denied.
David Reed and Seva Hospice were a true godsend. Living three hours away and trying to support my family was incredibly challenging. David and Seva went above and beyond to help, which brought me peace of mind knowing they were being guided by people who genuinely care. Thank you for everything you’ve done for my family!
We recently used the services and it was awful! We kept calling for a nurse, we were going through this process alone. The night my mother in law passed we called 3 times to send a nurse because we didn't know how to give the medicine or how much to give and all they said is "use your criteria" she was in agony and we are not nurses or doctors ! When they got us to sign up, Steven from hospice said "anything you need call us, we are here to help, you need a nurse to give the medicine because you're nervous, call us ! You won't be alone. The night my loved one passed we called 3 times and they didn't send a nurse. This was a very traumatic and difficult experience that we had to go to for choosing the wrong services. We also asked for a Spanish speaker team and Steve from hospice said "not a problem!!" The nurse that came didn't speak a word of Spanish. This place is seriously a nightmare Whatever you do, DO NOT SIGN UP FOR SEVA
