Amedisys Hospice is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Tucson, Arizona and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.

When that time arrives and you or your loved one requires Hospice. Look no further. Amedisys is the most professional, caring, kind establishment you will ever find. Everyone treats you like family and will treat you or your loved with love. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of my Dad.
I would give them zero stars if I could. Amedisys brought a bed into our home with bed bugs, caused an infestation, refused to investigate, and ignored attempts to resolve this matter. Amedisys provided at-home hospice for my grandfather, which included a bed and other supplies. The bed was not wrapped in plastic and had no cover. On October 24th, the day after my grandfather passed and the bed was removed from the home, I discovered bed bugs in the house and fresh bites on my grandmother. We contacted Amedisys on October 24th, the same evening I discovered the bed bugs, to report the infestation. However, we heard nothing from Amedisys after the fact. We were forced to leave our home in the middle of mourning to avoid bites. I had to spend thousands to hire an exterminator, pay for house cleaners to prepare the home for treatment, purchase protective gear for the house cleaners, pay for hotels, and purchase clothing for my grandmother and I (as we had no choice but to leave our belongings in the home to avoid a spread of the infestation). The exterminator reported no other bed bugs in other parts of the house, which indicates that the infestation was recent and limited in its location. Our family went to the Amedisys on River Road and met briefly with the director, Karen Gutierrez, who acknowledged she had received a report about the bed. However, nobody ever reached out to discuss the report or an investigation--despite the assurances that an investigation was "happening." Ms. Gutierrez was unapologetic and showed little concern about our plight. No one has contacted us since to discuss this "investigation". I am horrified that my grandfather was likely being bitten by bed bugs in his final moments due to this outrageous conduct by Amedisys. This situation is inexcusable on all levels. Instead of spending time grieving, we had to spend our time fighting the nightmare Amedisys put us through. Beware!
Please do not sign your loved one up with this place! They have the most disrespectful and unprofessional staff I’ve ever experienced.
