I was in a bad car accident on my way to work last night, and was taken to DePaul hospital by ambulance. They took my blood pressure and weight, and after 2 hours of waiting, with only 2 people in the waiting room, I left to go somewhere else. I ended up at St. Luke's and from the second I walked in the door is was night/day difference. They showed compassion, kindness, and patience. They were attentive, explained each step of my care, as well as expectations of my recovery. Even before leaving, they actually walked through all of the aftercare instructions; something that no other hospital I've ever visited before. Most of the time when they are done with you they throw it in an envelope and hand it to you on your way out.
I just had surgery there. The nurses, techs, and other staff at this hospital were amazing! They really cared and did everything in their power to help a bad situation. I would definitely recommend this hospital to anyone. They went above and beyond, and I hope they know how appreciative I am for all of them.
My brother was brought in with reoccurring sepsis symptoms. From the emergency room care to the doctors and nurses on the ICU, step down and surgery floors he has received great care. They were quick to stay on top of his care and perform all the right procedures to get him in much better shape. Forever appreciated and grateful!
St. Luke’s saved my life! I came into the ER 1.5 weeks postpartum after receiving not the best of care at Mercy (where I delivered). Even with a waiting room full of people the nurses saw how badly sick I looked and treated me right away. Long story short is by the time I got to St. Luke’s I was in septic shock and in critical condition. They treated me with the serious care I should have gotten the second time I went back to the hospital at Mercy. Days later I went into kidney failure and I also received wonderful care from their team once again. The doctors and nurses were amazing and on their A game at all times! I have made a full recovery and enjoying life with my little one. I’m forever thankful I went to St. Luke’s for a second opinion!
I came to the ER earlier this morning and had a lot of anxiety about coming in. My anxiety was quickly relieved by how kind and amazing the staff was. The nurses that checked me in AMAZING! Once I got into my room my nurse Josh was AMAZING!!! He is everything you’d want in a nurse kind, gentle, listened very well, made me laugh even though I wasn’t feeling the greatest. The girl that did my ultrasound was also fabulous. The ER was also very kind and a good listener. I’ve been to hospitals many times and this staff is top notch. They care and listen which nowadays is hard to find in doctors offices and hospitals.
