Receptionist-wonderful, intake nurse-great , back of the ER=Horrible. I got to the back in record time and was asked for a urine sample, in which I obliged promptly. I handed the nurse my urine sample and was told to go into room 9. I went into the room which was clean and cold. There were NO blankets on the bed and no one gave me a call button. I had already explained to the nurse that I was diagnosed with a auto-immune disease which should have clicked in her brain that the room is cold and perhaps I should walk the patient into the room and give her a call button and check to see if she needs a blanket. No professionalism, I sat in that room freezing for over an hour, no one came to check on me at all. At that point, I left because I can suffer at home with people who have common decency, and common sense to check on me. It is a disgusting thing when people who are supposed to care for you choose to ignore what you may be going through, I no longer have respect for healthcare providers as a whole. The last time I was ignored in the ER I almost died from a huge hole in my gallbladder and the nurses decided to sit around, chat, and ignore me because for some reason they believe black women do NOT feel pain. A word of advise: if you all are going to ignore your patients at least before you send them in a freezing cold room make sure there are blankets in the room; make sure there is an accessible call button; even if it is busy there should be someone to at least let the patients know that it is busy but you all are working on their behalf to get them seen! Utterly ridiculous to have someone wait in a cold room over an hour without checking in on them, not to mention the lighting also triggered a seizure. Total disgusting display of human decency let alone professional decency.

Went in with my back killing me. After sitting in the waiting room for over a hour. The lady at the desk literally calls me up there and tells me she forgot about me. They put me in a room finally. I walked out 2 hours later. No nurse no doctor no one came to my room. I wish I could give this hospital a negative. They where not busy. No one in the parking lot really. It's the worst hospital I have ever been to.

Other than CNA’S/NURSES, cursing out patients that fell and yelling for help, and the HEAD NURSE and other nurses, HR, & EVS, trying to cover it up, I guess it will be ok, if you don’t report wrongdoing!!!

After being sick with flu for days I realized I was going to have to seek help. I was sure that I'd caught the flu from my daughter and I needed a doctors excuse because there was no way I was going to work. Sign the book between 8 and 8:30 I guess and I was dying could hardly walk. I Start getting really hot I mean I can hear my brain sizzling so I jump and look at the time and it's 9:30 and I m running outta time I got to get help so I run to urgent care only to find out nobody's there. I just knew they would have tamaflu that's all I need dog for real but no I have to go back and sign a new sheet and wait obviously sick. No one calls my name for another hour. Another long hot hour where I had ti cool my body off. I mean the reason I'm here is I want to live so I took off my sweater and lowered my own temperature and then to be treated so hated hateful and in such a threatening and hostile way because I had the audacity to come to a hospital for help and sure enough I had the flu. You'd would have found out sooner if somebody would have cared enough when I was delirious with fever and could hardly breath for 2 hours to have asked. ---‐No Dr. STALLWORTH-- I'm not 'normal" I'm sick that's why I'm here. Please tell me where you would like me to go for help because I'm really confused. Thanks for the tamaflu and the excuse that's all I needed but instead had the worst experience of my life and didn't deserve it.

All I have to say is I have been misdiagnosed on 3 separate occasions for 3 different reasons that I went there. Needless to say I have contacted a lawyer and I am pursuing a malpractice lawsuit against the entire staff. The best thing about my case is after they said nothing was wrong, I immediately went the next day to an Emergency room in mobile and got a correct diagnosis. Another time I went to DR. Rutledge an orthopedic doctor in mobileon June 1st ,a full month after i went to Monroeville ER my to have my toe x-ray on May 9th 2021, now I have plates and screws in both feet, I told them I broke it and they said that it wasn't broken. I was smart enough to take pictures on my phone of my toe. I went to my NP the next day and had her look at it and I said it was broken and could I get something for pain. Her exact words were your scan didn't show anything so I am not going to give you anything for pain. I told her to refer me to an orthopedic doctor. I went to DR. Rutledge in mobile on june 1st and he did his own x-ray and said yeah its broken and the screw has been shoved backwards into the plate. He wanted to put me in a cast.I opted for the shoe.I called my np while they were fitting me for the shoe and told her that it was broke and he wanted to put me in a cast. She said so what do you want me to do about it.I told her I just wanted to make you aware that I was right when I told you I had broken it.DR. Rutledge gave me a printed copy of the x-ray and circled where it was broken so I could take it to her. Then I had an x-ray in December 2023 on my chest cause I couldn't breathe and I was coughing up enormous amounts of blood. They never called me to tell me the results, so after a couple of weeks when I felt like I was dying, I went to the office and she said I have pneumonia and had delayed treatment for 2 weeks. I asked her if anyone from the office called to let me know and told her that I never got a call from anyone in that office to give me my results, so how was I at fault for delaying treatment. In February 2024 I was still not any better.I went to the er and they gave me an x-ray and ended up admitting me. All they did was give me a pain pill. My lower legs and feet were so swollen that I could hardly walk. On day 3 I asked if he could do an MRI. He said no, only your pcp can order us to do one.I was shocked. I'd never heard anything like that, plus I fired my pcp. He said that there was no reason to do on,my scan looked good. I walked out AMA. My daughter drove from Tennessee the next day and took me to the er on shell street in mobile, now I'm using a walker cause my legs and feet are so swollen and in so much pain and they did a CT scan and said that I still had pneumonia and fluid still on my lungs. So again misdiagnosed at Monroe County Hospital. So yes I am filling a malpractice suit against the staff and hospital. I urge you,if you are really sick it's worth traveling farther for Adequate care cause they don't know what they are doing and you're liable to die. I know that I almost did. I now go to UAB Kirkland Clinic for mine and My husband's care. Don't care about how far it is, they are highly intelligent and knowledgeable. Plus they have state of the art equipment
