Home Health Aide (HHA) Job Description
Home Health Aide Job Description We have an opening for a home health aide to join our growing team. You will be tasked with helping patients with personal hygiene, minor medical needs, housekeeping, and other daily needs as required by the patient. To excel in this role, you should have an interest in health care and the ability to work with limited supervision keeping the patient's needs as your top priority. Responsibilities: Perform personal care activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, eating, and using the bathroom Perform household duties, including meal preparation and light housekeeping Provide patients with mobility assistance Follow assignments and guidelines set by RNs, PTs, and/or OTs Prepare and submit all documentation by established deadlines in conjunction with policies and procedures Report unusual behavior and any other pertinent patient information to supervisor Show flexibility in responding to the needs of the patient Oversee administration of medications Qualification: California State Home Health Aide Certificate Background clearance High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Must be at least 18 years of age Minimum of 6 months of work experience, preferably in home care, a skilled nursing facility, or hospital setting. Possess and maintain current CPR certification Valid driver's license with a registered vehicle that is insured. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Strong reading, writing, and speaking skills (in English) Comfortable with little supervision Current and satisfactory report on pre-employment physical examination including Mantoux TB Test or chest X-ray as required by Agency policies and procedures.
