Caregiver Job Description
A Direct Care Staff (DCS) works under the supervision of the QIDP or designee. The staff Provides direct service to individuals with varying degrees of development disabilities by meeting their daily needs consistent with the policy of the facility and regulatory agency requirements. The DCS also assists in ensuring that the 24 hour ICF-DD/H is properly maintained according to the prescribed health and safety standards. Below is a list of responsibilities. 1. Administering medicine and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers. 2. Monitoring the physical, mental, and emotional conditions of clients and reporting changes to designated parties. 3. Performing personal hygiene care and housekeeping duties. 4. Preparing meals and assisting clients with eating and drinking. 5. Brief change on incontinent clients or providing bathroom visit support. 6. Assisting clients from their beds into chairs or wheelchairs, and back. 7. Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe environment.
