Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Description
It is the responsibility of a Licensed Practical Nurse to serve as a contractor nurse assistant to the RN in the agency and at times as an assistant nurse to the agency office in lieu of RN's Absence and is responsible for the daily work assignments of the nursing assistants and companion sitters. An LPN will provide information for evaluation of nursing assistants concerning performance appraisals and in educating and listening to family and client’s concerns. Responsibilities: 1. Prepares and provide care planning with knowledge of purpose and adverse effects of service provided. 2. Completes all documentation for observation, planning, and evaluation of care provided to clients, including orders by physicians. 3. Functions in monitoring capacity as assigned for completion of client’s care, contractor Guidance and discipline. 4. Maintains open lines of communication between house calls, as well as other areas, supervisor, physicians, and families of clients. 5. Acts on client’s behalf to assure client rights and to prevent potential client abuse. 6. Acts on first aid knowledge in emergencies. 7. Is aware of safety issues, accomplishing responsibilities in a safe manner, re-enforces good safety practices displayed by another Contractor. 8. Can maintain confidentiality of information. 9. Works as a team member. 10. Can perform the following physical activities: Kneeling, Stooping, Standing, Reaching, Pulling/pushing, Walking, Grasping, moving fingers, Hearing, Talking, Sitting, Repetitive motions. Education, Experience & Qualifications 1. High School education. 2. Current Georgia LPN license in this state (Georgia) or permit to practice. 3.CPR certification 4.Physical, TB 4.Misconduct abuse form. 5.Valid Driver's License.
