What You’ll Do: Administer prescribed medications (oral, topical, inhalation, and mucosal) to patients in accordance with state regulations. Adhere to the “Five Rights” of medication administration. Monitor and report patient reactions to medications. Assist nurses and healthcare staff in long-term care and assisted living settings. Maintain accurate records and uphold the highest standards of patient safety. Aide in total care of grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, turning, repositioning, or other needs (ADLs). Assist with various tasks including vital signs, resident’s weights, applying creams/ointments, collecting specimens, etc. Support Resthaven’s mission, values, and standards of excellence What You Need (We Provide Training!): High school graduate or successful completion of GED. Successful completion of a Michigan state approved nurse assistant certification course or other education that meets state certification requirements. Must hold current nurse assistant certification in Michigan. Must have worked at least 2,000 hours as a nurse aide in a nursing home or skilled nursing facility during the two years prior, especially caring for the elderly with memory loss. Completion of a Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) - approved Medication Aide training program Successful completion of the state CMA competency exam.
