Home Health Aide (HHA) Job Description
Personal Care: Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, meal prep, cooking and light housekeeping. Health Monitoring Monitoring and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. Observing and reporting any changes in the client's physical or mental condition to the healthcare team. Medication Management: Assisting with medication reminders and ensuring that the client takes prescribed medications as directed. Keeping accurate records of medication administration. Meal Preparation and Nutrition: Planning and preparing nutritious meals based on the client's dietary restrictions and preferences. Household Support: Performing light housekeeping duties, such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing. Running errands, grocery shopping, and ensuring a safe and clean-living environment. Companionship: Providing emotional support and companionship to alleviate feelings of loneliness or isolation. Engaging in conversation, playing games, or accompanying the client on outings. Transportation: Assisting with transportation to medical appointments, social events, or other activities. Communication: Maintaining open communication with family members, healthcare professionals, and other members of the care team. Documenting care activities and observations in a clear and organized manner. Flexibility: Being adaptable to the changing needs and routines of the client. Safety and Emergency Response: Recognizing and responding to emergency situations promptly. Following safety protocols and ensuring a secure environment for the client.
