DSP In-Home Caregiving for Adults with Autism - Direct Support Professional Salary: $21.00 per hour Do meaningful work by providing in-home care for adults living with autism. California Programs for Autism, Inc. (CPA) provides 24/7 in-home care for vulnerable adults living with autism in two 6 bed Adult Residential Facilities (ARFs) in Santa Rosa, California. CPA's residents are primarily 55-65 year old men, living with severe forms of mostly non-verbal autism. We also provide Day Program Services M-F. CPA offers a robust benefit package: 80 hours accrued Vacation and Sick paid time off for ALL staff, PTO Kaiser Health Insurance, Vision, and Delta Dental are offered, including acupuncture and chiropractic benefits available for full-time staff working a minimum of 32 hours/week. (75% of premium costs for health coverage packages are paid by CPA / 25% of premium costs are paid by employee via semi-monthly payroll deduction.) On Duty Meals provided. CalSavers 401K Employee sponsored DSP AM Shifts focus on Day Programming. Typically 7-3p Mon-F. DSP PM Evening Shifts focus on in-home care. Typically 1-9pm, weekends required 1 Sat or 1 Sun minimally or both if available. DSP Weekend AM Shifts for Sat & Sun-typically 7-3 or 9-5. Or PM Shifts 1-9. We have shifts for weekends only(2days). All staff complete training specific to the preferences of each resident CPA cares for, (person-centered care), as well as DSP #1 and DSP #2 training in the first year and second year of employment, respectively. Direct Support Professional: CPA provides training, however, the following is required during the hiring process to complete onboarding: CPA pays for the below: - 18 years or older and with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience to drive company vehicles. - Hold a valid CA driver's license and provide print out of DMV driving record. - Fingerprinting via Live Scan (must clear FBI and DOJ background check). - Pass employment physical and meet physical requirements, including clear TB Test. - Hold current CPR and First Aid certifications and/or be willing to complete training provided by CPA upon hire. - Knowledge of medication administration / MAR, (willingness to be trained in passing meds). - Experience working with individuals with autism, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
