Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Job Description
Job Summary: Licensed Vocation Nurse (LVN) Position is responsible for the healthcare of participants with special healthcare needs. Nursing care is under the direction of the participant’s primary care physician. Essential Job Duties • Performs first aid, administers medications and treatments, and provides health care services under the participant’s primary physician’s orders including hypodermics if required. • Maintains medical supplies inventory and prepares orders for replenishment. • Performs Participant’s pre examination assessments for placement. • Ensures the writing of and monitoring documentation of restricted health care plans. • Maintains participant’s file reviews. • Evaluates the health care concerns of participants on an as needed basis. • Conducts and records staff training on compliance with restricted health care plans. • Supervises direct care staff in performance of incidental medical services to consumers. • Attends all I.D. Team meetings to provide information and advocacy on behalf of the consumer’s health care concerns. • Facilitates communication with other medical professionals. • Establishes and maintains effective relationships with participants, families, group homes, regional center personnel, physicians, and others contacted in the course of the work. • Punctual and regular attendance. Minimum Qualifications • Must possess and maintain a valid Licensed Vocational Nurse Certification/Degree in the state of CA. • Minimum two (2) years’ experience working as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Experience working with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (Preferred) • Maintain a clear criminal records/fingerprint clearance. • Must be able to communicate effectively through verbal and written forms with a variety of people on different levels. • Must be able to read and write Standard English. • Must have knowledge of email use of computers and recordkeeping. • Demonstrate leadership skills. • Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred) • Must maintain a high degree of professionalism and positivity in all interactions. • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality. • Must be able to maintain First Aid/CPR (training available) • Must maintain valid CA Driver’s License, clean driving record, and personal auto insurance. • Background Fingerprint Clearance. Work Site: Fairmount Resource Center Direct Report: Fairmount Resource Center Program Director/ Executive Director FLSA Status: Non Exempt, Full time Pay rate: $ 22.00 per hour Work hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00p.m. Physical Demands: • Must be able to multi task • Must be able to lift 25-50 lbs. • Must be able to stand frequently .
