4 months ago, December 24, 2025, my 97year old mom suffered a stroke. While in the hospital, she contracted RSV and double Pneumonia. She spent 3 months in the hospital (LEXMED, fantastic) and then we had to find somewhere from rehab which HAD to be a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) because of her condition, no regular rehab center would take her. We looked at OVER 10/TEN different facilities and all were places you would not want to leave you loving momma at! We looked at facilities within 70 miles of where we live on the outskirts of Lex county. We were SHOCKED when we went to see Pruitt at Barnwell!!! WHAT A FANTASTIC, LOVING, CARING, SUPER CLEAN, WONDERFUL place!! We were so, so, sooo thank full to find this facility. The Staff is absolutely wonderful, caring and genuinely loving towards their patients. ALL of the permanent residences are genuinely happy. How could we tell?? We spent EVERYDAY, from 10 am, until 8 pm every single day for almost a month there. EVERYDAY! We were able to see how the staff actually integrate, care for, and lookout for each and every patient. From the moment you walk in, you see immediately how clean it is, how well kept it is, and how happy ALL of the patients are. This should be the standard for ALL of these facilities. From the moment you step in and are greeted by the admin staff, and are then are given your first tour, you immediately see, feel, smell, and experience first hand how wonderful this facility is, you will see, ESPECIALLY if you have visited as many other facilities as we have, that this place is absolutely fantastic. The physical therapy staff, in particular Ms Sarah, and Ms. April have such an incredibly caring, and loving manner to deal with the patients, that it's as though they are treating their own family. Within days of arriving there, my mom began to improve in so many ways. Today, she is again mobile, eating regular food, and not having to be changed in bed as she can now walk to the bathroom and do her necessities. It is ALL thanks to Pruitt Health BARNWELL!!! We cannot thank this staff enough for all they have done! They should model this facility, this staff, and this philosophy and inject it into every other facility! Thank you Pruitt Health BARNWELL for bringing back my mom.

My mother in law has been there for a year. The staff are always willing to help and answer any questions we have. She is happy there and they take great care of her. Place is always clean as well. They have plenty of activities that my mother in law can participate in if she wants and she enjoys doing them. I think this is a wonderful facility for anyone's loved ones who need care.

The Nursing staff have been wonderful with my mother during her stay. Everyone is great. Two things I would suggest is 1. Maybe remind the CNA's of how delicate elderly people on blood thinners, skin is and remember to wash their bodies accordingly. 2. The food served, especially the meat needs improvement. The same spices are used for all the meat and a lot of the people there can't tolerate it. Think about that most of the residents wear dentures and can't chew that hard meat either. This is just my observation.

My mother is a resident and she loves it there. I really enjoy visiting every week. It is like one big family. I tell them all the time how much I love to visit. God answered our prayers after my Daddy died. God is GOOD.
