SHERRILL HOUSE

The Aids are very nice and caring. The conflict comes in when questioned about PT and OT, I was told my mom would get 1 hr. Of PT and an hr of OT. My mom , with difficulty was able to walk when she went in, but because of lack of therapy and onset dementia after 2 months of being at the Sherill House, she was not able to walk when she returned home. So if you have a family member at any facility, I advise visit daily, multiple times a day especially during therapy, so that you can witness it being done and not take their word. I was told daily that she was taking 10 - 20 steps daily. Which was about the same she was doing at home. On release I was told 6 steps. Big difference right. I asked if she could have someone walk with her with the wheel chair behind her during the day as well so she wouldn't forget how to walk and become complacent in sitting and lying down most of the day. Because that's how , by God's help we did daily. She walked with her walker very slowly to the bathroom, to the kitchen and to the living to watch TV. Now. She is bed ridden and wheel chair bound. Each time I have visited my friend who is a resident at Sherrill House, I am always first, greeted by a friendly, welcoming, and helpful receptionist. And each time, as have made my way with my friend to her room, the common lunch room, or more recently the patio beyond the entrance, I have been offered with my friend, support from staff along the way. On my most recent visit with my friend as she sat with a number of friends on the patio under the umbrella, staff stopped by to make sure we were comfortable. It is reassuring to know when my visits end, friendly, welcoming, and supportive staff remain there, working inside the Sherrill House.

I cannot say enough great things about Sherrill House. They took great care of my father when he was there for rehab. The staff, the nurses, and the physical therapist go the extra mile to provide the support for each and every patient. The professionalism and kindness shown to my father and our family helped so much towards his recovery.

My Mom was a patient at Sherrill House August '24. This was her 3rd rehab facility due the start of her medical issues starting in April. As they say "#3 is a Charm". Her care there was great. The facility was clean and bright, the staff was attentive, friendly and caring. I have been part of the, health care gorilla for 30 years, I don't know how they do it as a non profit - but it works. Continued success.

My mother received excellent care here. She had been hospitalized three times and went to one rehab prior to coming to the Sherrill House. The Sherrill House had my mother walking, feeding herself and using the bathroom alone again! It was amazing. The staff is friendly and hard working and my mother even had great things to say about the food for the most part.
