My brother is happy, comfortable and safe at Safire Southtowns. Caring, friendly staff. The facility is clean and doesn’t smell like some places he has lived at. He has a comfortable home with people who care and many many friends. I believe of all the places he’s lived at I think he finally found his happy place. They care, it’s clean and he’s happy. 😊
Money is there first prioritykeep that in mind. Real health, true empathy, customer service, detailed care, sanitation and overall wellness are not there priority for your loved ones. If you truly care for your loved one, do yourself a favor and stay away from this hell whole. Blessings to the few that truly try, which I can count with a hand ✋️.
My husband is in this facility as I post this . The food is terrible, and the help is very slow. Not only that, almost all of his clothing has disappeared, no underwear to wear now he has to use a diaper they give him. Also other clothing and nobody knows where they went they went to the laundry and never made it back to his room. Not much pt given only a short time , at least he walks by himself. I'm sorry he was moved there. He is very unhappy, he's just biding his time till he gets home .
Absolutely horrible for anyone to have a loved one. We've had to call the police and ambulance several times to the facility because they refuse to help my mother. They took her phone from her when she called the cops to help her because they left her on the floor for hours on end after falling. Her room is constantly a mess and left horribly disgusting. As well as stealing and taking personal food out of her personal closet and refusing to give her basic three meals, because she has these side meals. But they steal them from her? The staff had committed actual crimes against her and leave her stuck in her used diapers for hours on end. The care is horrible, the staff is even worse and like to abuse their patients because of some weird power trip.
Do not send a loved one here!! My Mother was transferred here from the hospital because she needed some physical rehab, and there is no other place that had a bariatric bed. My Mother has COPD along with many other issues. So she’s constantly on oxygen/CPAP machine while she sleeps. I tried to contact this place to get updates on her throughout her stay but was sent to a voicemail system. And I did not get a phone call in return. She was there for about three days until me and a sibling were able to make it up there to visit her and check up on her. My Mother never said anything about the care but that was also because she wasn’t even feeling well enough to realize. Upon arrival, My Mother was in a duo room With another patient. And her side of the room was disgusting. When the other patient in the room side was pretty clean. Pictures below show what it looked like. On top of that My Mother didn’t look good herself. Her eyes were puffy, her skin seems dry as if they haven’t helped her bathe. Her hair was in the same ponytail, that she left the hospital with. Her hands and feet were swollen from the lack of oxygen. And she was completely lethargic. My sister immediately got a cleaner in there to take care of the mess, and requested an ambulance to pick her up so she can go back to the hospital because she was not gonna get any better sitting in that bed. Upon arriving, we had found out that they never put the machine on her. Which was right next to her bed still in her bag. When we mentioned it to them, they said that there was no notes from the hospital saying she had to be on the mask, Which could’ve been an error, but us knowing our Mother we know for a fact she supposed to have it on while she naps/sleeps. We also learned that they weren’t helping her walk to the bathroom that is in their room, instead they were putting pads and a diaper underneath her for her to do her business and then cleaning it up once she finished. What type of care do they have going on here?? Don’t get me wrong these places are busy and upon coming into the facility there were a lot of people there, People were in hallways and in rooms for activities and physical therapy. So I don’t doubt that it’s hard considering how many people are there, but there should be some type of protocols or scheduling to make sure that everyone gets equal amount of care as the next person. As far as the physical therapy our mother told us that someone came in for an hour a day to do arm exercises, when the main physical therapy my mom needs is walking. Again, I understand that these places don’t have it easy as well, But I can only imagine whoever else is loved ones that come here that recieved similar care. Or had at least a person that has read their chart and understands exactly what it is that’s going on. I don’t know maybe they will treat your loved one different, but for mine this is a completely unacceptable place to ever send her back to. if you do send somebody here make sure to stay on top with the visits in the phone calls, I really hope things change in the future.
