This facility is very clean (no smells). Nursing staff is excellent and willing to interact with patients. Meals seem to be a monthly repeat; with weekends breakfast is egg casserole only. My room was spacious and was kept clean on a daily basis. My therapists were knowledgeable and kept me engaged. Willing to let me go at a higher level than expected.
We had an excellent experience with Columbia Post Acute. My husband had been in an Assisted Living facility in St. Louis, where several staff members had no business working in a care facility. Based on the comments of those staff members, it seemed pretty clear the staff treated their residents, the way upper management treated them. Columbia Post Acute was a breath of fresh air. All staff was caring, kind, compassionate, etc. Several staff spent the time to get to know my husband. I can only assume their attitude and work ethic goes all the way to the top. We are very grateful to have had Columbia Post Acute as an option in our community!
I was a patient at Columbia Post Acute Care after knee replacement surgery. I found the nurses very attentive to all my needs and willing to help me in any way they could. The therapists were excellent and had goals I had to meet before I was discharged. I enjoyed attending the daily events such as ice cream socials, crafts, Bingo, music, etc. I was able to get out of my room and visit with others. Doug and Matthew were fantastic drivers when transporting me from the hospital and to doctor appointments. Also, food service was excellent. There were a variety of menus each day. I highly recommend this facility if you are in need of a rehabilitation center.
Columbia Post Acute is a great place to send your loves one for rehab/skilled nursing. All the rooms are private. The staff from laundry attendant to director are amazing. My father was here for 4 months. The physical, occupational, and speech therapy is by far the best in town! CPA's bed capacity might be small but the level of care my father received was bigger/better then I could of hoped for. Prior to my dad's amputation I had never heard of CPA. When I had a choice between them or Rusk- I picked Rusk because I knew the name and assumed they would provide better care. Not only did Rusk's therapy not help my father but they discharged him within 21 days and said he was now able to live on his own alone (as a 1st time amputee at 69 years old). Rusk did not communicate a discharge plan and did not follow up after he was released. CPA gave us an anticipated discharge date well in advance. They helped me come up with a plan for home health, transportation to and from dialysis, etc.. CPA also continued to follow up with my father and I weekly after discharge over the next month to make sure all was going well. I am and always will be a BIG FAN of Columbia Post Acute. If you are ever in a situation and you our a loved one needs rehab/skilled services, Pick CPA you will not regret it!
Look no further if you're looking for a rehab-to-home facility in the Columbia region. The best professionals who understand what's best for your loved one work at Columbia Post Acute. The nursing staff is second to none, and the administration is excellent. My loved one would never have been able to go back to their home without this facility.
