Ohhhh God. This place is absolutely terrible! Some residents have the administrator wrapped around their finger. Weed is smoked up there everyday and night. If you are under the awning and another resident is kicking you they don’t have a camera out there in order to protect the person that’s being violated. They choose to lie to your family and rip your family apart. Even with a police report they try to cover their backs. It’s all about hiding something from the state so they don’t have that report or the fines, they are protecting their jobs and desperately trying to protect their reviews in order when they are despicable to residents and they want to be sure they can get more money from the next victim! I’m telling you that this place should be shut down and yes the kitchen is atrocious! God the manger should have been fired long ago. Everyone complained about her. She doesn’t care about us. She only cares about her convenience. One time she tried to throw me out of the dining room so she sent a worker asking me to leave because I had Covid. I said “what? Who told you that?” She said I don’t know they just want you to leave. So I said I want you to show me the medical documentation that says I have Covid because I was tested twice and I don’t have it. And the sexual assault happens in the elevator to everyone that it happens to! Pure and simple Elder Abuse! Their the ones that convinced me to go back to school and receive my bachelors degree in criminal justice to become a victim advocate. It was a terrible thing when they moved me in there knowing that they already had a huge huge infestation of bedbugs. When I eventually left the infestation was still there. I’m telling you they should be locked down!
I would say our Sales department is on fire, He has the biggest personality and great customer service. The building has come along way. The new administrator is cool, she has brung some spunk to the building as well you have to love her personality……Welcome to Simpson Place where dreams come true lol 😊
My Father was admitted to Simpson Place for skilled nursing. The staff was caring, attentive, & happy to answer questions and concerns. Therapy team really helped my dad get stronger. So grateful to the staff at Simpson Place!
Our mother lived in nursing care at Simpson Place for just over two years. The discovery and move-in process with Corey was very good. My mother received good care while there. This is an older facility and could use some updating. The staff on the 6th floor was generally very good. There were several staff who we came to know well and they showed kindness and care for our mother. Our experience with the business staff was very different. The longtime financial person was not a good communicator, gave conflicting information and would not follow-up or respond with consistency. Communicate by email and not over the phone. The management needs to intervene with this person.
My father moved into this place in April 2023. Simpson Place Assisted Living has been a big disappointment. I've tried to reach out the Administration, who responded with a standard form response. I contacted the State of Texas who is supposed to be investigating these claims. Before you place anyone you love and care about in this facility please request a full tour of the facility, all 6 floors. Here is what we have found since my father moved in: Stairwells have junk furniture laying in the pathway. The facility has bed bugs on all floors The carpets are filthy and smell of smoke and urine. It's against city ordinance for smoking to take place in hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities but this facility overlooks the smokers smoking in the building which is making people Iike my father sick from daily cigarette smoking that flows through his room on a regular basis. It's three times as bad on the evenings and weekends. The staff ignores my father's requests for assistance with the smokers. The laundry facilities stay broken, currently there are only a couple machines working on floor #4. Please request a full tour, when we visited before he moved in we were told they couldn't show him his room and instead showed another residents room. His room was soaked in cigarette smoke. He would have never moved in because his health is affected by cigarette smoke. There are daily fights in the dining room. The food served is rarely diabetic friendly. My father's medication was missed a couple times and given in the wrong increments which caused him to sleep nearly 24 hours. This is dangerous for any elderly person. I would not recommend this place to anyone I have not witnessed any benefits to living in this assisted living. Simply put the place is a disgrace.
