This review is for the kitchen & patients eating in-room. Not one to complain unless necessary, but this is just unacceptable. Nursing has been mostly great, so this is not about them. A HUGE problem, ongoing & happens EVERY meal. Based on the experience of my family member (I'm there to see it a lot) & according to the menu that she fills out, (menu's on the tray at each meal) there's continual missing, selected items. Such as breakfast, cereal, meat, yogurt, toast, milk, butter or salt or any other combinations missing. For lunch, the same (different foods and drink missing. Supper, the same, missing potato or gravy, dessert, bread, drink, applesauce, soup, butter or salt etc... According to a great many of the nursing staff & office staff there's a HUGE issue with the kitchen/cafeteria staff that Harmony knows needs addressed & there's a great amount of complaints from the patients & their loved ones. One day none of the in-room patients recieved silverware. One patient recieved only 1 slice of toast & drinks, along with their menu showing their full meal & extras they had selected and didn't recieve. Patients get 4 days of menus & a packet of 3 days to fill out ahead of time, long with a sheet for extra food & drink alternatives. We had to fill out 1 week 3 times. Not sure where they ended up. That's fine but the menus could be written better. Perhaps they could put checkboxes before each choice. It's very messy after circling each item. Especially since the list of items aren't even lined up evenly underneath each other. It's very distracting. and disorganized. Not a huge issue because it's still readable. All that is necessary to correct this problem is for the people filling the trays is for the kitchen to see and read, with a final observation that everything selected is on the tray. It is understandable that an error or overlook can happen, but multiple or more items with every single meal is blatant, not caring & an irresponsibility. Its time consuming for nurses to run for all these items. This is a HUGE blight on Harmony Utica Ridge.
Harmony Utica Ridge is such a beautiful building. It is light and airy. It is clean and the furniture and equipment are maintained well. The staff are very friendly and are willing to assist with residents' needs. They treat the residents like family. The therapy staff are encouraging and motivating. They have coffee and hot chocolate available to the residents whether they are receiving therapy or not. I would recommend Utica Ridge whether someone needs a short stay for rehabilitation or a long stay.
Harmony Utica Ridge strives to be the best at what they do and that is to provide rehabilitation services as well as Long Term Care for those who need a bit of help with everyday needs. The Rehab department is top-notch, caring and understanding yet motivational There are many many years of experience behind their Nursing staff. They work to make your days a bit brighter. The aides help put their residents at ease as well. Sometimes becoming almost like family. You can be as busy as you want to be at Harmony with a staff here for Activity needs, even on weekends. The dietary staff is here to make sure you get the nutrition you need to get well, plus it tastes pretty good too. No one wants to be in a nursing home, even for a little while, but when you have no choice, this is the one to recover in.
The staff here is wonderful! Friendly, informative and caring…including the therapists, who are great! The building was recently remodeled and is beautiful inside, Comfortable, clean and relaxing for both visitors and patients. I def recommend making a visit if you’re looking for short term rehab or long term care for a loved one.
Harmony Utica Ridge is a beautiful and modern building with a state of the art therapy gym. Most of the staff have worked there for many years. Unlike so many other places, this place has a great staff to resident ratio and they are very compassionate.
