My grandmother was cared for at this facility until she passed away. All the staff are kind, caring and knowledgeable and we were very blessed as a family for their compassionate services that my grandmother received. A few weeks after her admission she received a diagnosis that was not expected. Staff assisted with setting up hospice services while in facility since she was terminal. Top notch care was provided to my grandmother. Communication between the staff and family members was bar none. All departments were amazing. Nursing, social services, therapy , housekeeping, laundry, activities and administration were all available if needed. I am beyond grateful for the team that I am privileged with working with.
My mother was a resident for 5 months before passing. Admissions was easy. Nursing staff always helpful with updating her condition to family by phone or in person. Rehabilitation did wonders with her mobility. Nurses aides always going above call of duty. Food service tries to get patients to eat by giving them a monthly menu to choose from. Residents have the option to make their room their own by decorating it with things from home. Activities to enjoy and it did bring joy to her with singing, playing games, and spiritual support. Thank you to all staff!!
Jana and her team are great to work with. There are so many compassionate and caring individuals. The residents look good and happy. People are smiling every time I visit. The DON Ashley is fabulous
As a medical transport van driver, I have the occasion to interface with the staff and patients at PKV several times a week. I have found the nurses and other caregivers to be very competent and compassionate. The housekeeping staff does a great job keeping the facility quite clean. The administrative cadre are very professional and take their duties very seriously. Over the past eight and half years of providing transport services to PKV, I have come to know most of the staff and a number of the residents. The rehabilitation unit is staffed with excellent therapists that effectively treat patients. During transports, patients have related to me the very positive therapy treatments they have received. Having made hundreds of trips to and from PKV over the years, I highly recommend the services they provide. The personnel that work there are exceptional and work diligently at providing excellent care of the residents.
I was at Penn Knoll for over a month after being in the hospital for almost 2 months due to Covid. I was on a vent for 6 weeks. I was transferred to Penn Knoll for rehab. I came with a trach and feeding tube. The staff were very encouraging and made each step in my recovery easier. I had wonderful therapists that helped with my physical recovery but also were supportive with my emotional state of mind . The same thing applied to the nurses and aids. Everyone was kind and compassionate with me. They were able to work to get the feeding tube and trach out before I left. I feel that the care provided allowed me to return home with confidence that I would continue to improve.
