Would not recommend. Stopped doing therapy when my aunt was making progress without notice or explanation. Laundry staff never gets her clothes back to her. Aides will not check her refrigerator to see if she has any food or snacks. We've had to throw food away nearly every time we visit, because it went bad. We've complained to the nurses station, but nothing ever gets done.
The team at this facility is incredibly helpful, accommodating, and clearly goes above and beyond for all of the residents in their care. I work at Arbors at Sylvania which is about four hours away. One of our residents had a death in the family, and that family lived closest to Arbors at Gallipolis. Their staff helped us get our resident transferred to them, took them to the funeral, and have assisted in getting the patient back to our facility. Not only is our team grateful that they could assist in this situation, but the family of that resident is also tremendously grateful. I would highly recommend this center to anyone in the area.
I was very pleased with the wonderful staff and competent care that my dad received at this facility. We visited daily and were treated with friendly compassion by the staff about what we were going through as a family with my father’s disease. We were pleasantly surprised, every time we visited, with all of the staff members—we caught them constantly attending to the needs of my dad and all of the patients under their care and doing so with smiles on their faces along with helpful suggestions to ensure my dad was doing as best he could. That meant a lot to me as it showed they cared. And we saw it with everyone they worked with, it was compassion in action, daily. They communicated with us immediately if there were any issues that needed addressed concerning my dad’s health. Unfortunately, my dad had experienced sheer neglect at an incompetent assisted living facility which hospitalized him for almost two weeks with severe dehydration before being admitted to skilled nursing at The Arbors of Gallipolis. My family has the staff at The Arbors to thank for taking very good care of my father before he passed away. We really couldn’t have asked for a better team of caring folks and it meant a lot to my family, and most importantly, to my beloved dad, “Ham”.
The nurses and the aides are nice. Mom has not been right for two weeks. Yesterday I called hospice from the nursing home. They called the nursing home asking for some blood work. We're pretty sure she has a UTI. The nurse told me that The doctor refused. One day later we're heading to ER.
ALOT of nursing homes smell of urine. This arbors has no bad smells. Staff is friendly, listens to my concerns, my family member was clean and well kept. There is a monthly paper in each room about the various activities a person can get involved with. As in any nursing home. Be careful to put their name clearly on their clothes, or any property. So, they can easily keep their own items.
