HERITAGE CENTER

My mother was at Genesis Healthcare Center for around 3 years! Their staff is very accommodating and supportive! From the time she got there, until she passed, we had a very good relationship with the doctors, nurses and the nurses aids! The cleaning staff were extremely helpful! Even the kitchen staff tried to please the patients! Mom looked at homestead as her home!

The building is cleaned. Does not have an odor. The court yard is used when the weather is nice. The activities keep the residents going and not just in their rooms, and the ever expanding clinical capabilities are something to be proud of. Great job, Heritage!

My brother was sent to Heritage Center upon being released from Cabell Huntington Hospital. He had a leg amputation and is diabetic. I visited him regularly while he was there.the staff was friendly enough but the food was absolutely inedible. I was there when food was brought in and it was the most unappetizing mess I’ve ever seen. I went immediately to Kroger and bought my brother some microwave meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also took him coffee and drinks, and bottled water. I couldn’t imagine having someone I care about in this horrible place and I want to make sure someone knows. He was very sick when he was in the hospital and had lost a lot of weight. Nutrition was absolutely essential to his recovery. This place is shameful. His therapist told him he needed to add more calories to regain his health. He would have starved if left alone there.

Today is my mom's first day at Heritage. So far so good!! The staff are all pleasant 🙂. I hope we can keep this same energy throughout her stay.

Negligent. 93 yr old dad had maybe a hr of therapy a day and laying in bed the other 24. Facility lost 5 of his shirts. After constant complaining, they found 3 … one by one. Food cold and trays not picked up until 10pm. No shower/bath for more than a week. Finally called rehab and they gave him one. Extensive wait when call light is pushed (more than 30 minutes) for water. Had to go out and find a nurse on the floor ourselves. Extremely hard to reach anyone … phones in all offices/floors ring and ring and no one answers. Asked for days for a walker and beside commode which never came. Patient layed in own soiled diaper for hours on end because no one would help him to bathroom. Do not recommend. 0/10
