My mom was was admitted here after her hospital stay for CHF. This place is a dump. The food literally made my mom physically sick so she stopped eating. The room had no air conditioning so when it was 97 degrees outside it was 85 in her room. They gave her some fans that looked like they'd been in storage for years and it sounded like that too! She has to use a walker and it couldn't fit in the bathroom with her safely. The mattress on the bed kept moving and exposing some metal edges that could be dangerous for someone that has to slide off the bed). She got some PT, OT a couple times but I don't know if it actually did anything for her. She was still weak and had to rest just getting to and from the bathroom. She would press the button for help but by the time they showed up she'd have an accident so I think she forced herself to get up. Luckily we were there daily and could help her. She was there for a week and a half and they gave her a shower once - the day it was so hot in her room. I don't know how insurance figured she was good to go other than PT saying she can get out of bed and get to the bathroom. She still needed help but I don't blame her for wanting out of this place! The location is very sketchy (I wouldn't want to be there at night) AND THERE IS NO PARKING! The staff was helpful sometimes but I really would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL! Once my mom was discharged and our advocate got involved they were a lot more helpful (we needed paperwork for her long-term care facility. We'll see how helpful they are with my mom's forms needed for some insurance claims....
A few weeks ago, Buddy and his team at Cambridge Care Center went above and beyond to help us with a last-minute hospice respite placement. They recognized the urgency of the situation and made it possible for us to support a family in crisis that very same afternoon. The staff worked seamlessly with our hospice team to ensure the patient received compassionate, quality care. We are truly grateful for their support and dedication.
A dear family friend spent two months at Cambridge in Hospice care. His room was always clean. His food was always yummy. The nurses were caring and the attendance were responsive. They made his transition very peaceful. I would recommend Cambridge to any family who Is looking for a care center for a loved-one. God bless!
My 94 year old mom just stayed for 5 days at Cambridge Care Center. It was actually because I’m her caregiver and needed a few days of respite. When she came home she said that she really liked it and would like to go back sometime! She said the staff was wonderful and caring and the food was good. Since she is on hospice, Medicare paid for the 5 days. If she needs to go for a longer stay I would definitely have her go to Cambridge again! Cindy in Wheat Ridge
This place has to be one of the filthiest nursing homes I have ever had to spend two weeks of life in. The poor house keeper cleans all day she dry swept my then mopped every morning and then when I got to the filthy tiny bathroom I walked back to my and there was big dust balls and hair all over the tennis balls on my walker, the bathrooms are so outdated even a little kid would complain, the first thing I did when I saw the room I'd was to throw a fit and tell to find me another place to stay but they said they do that so they're money from my insurance for the miserable two weeks I have had to spend in my life.
