I had an excellent experience at Concordia in Monroeville. Very pleasant atmosphere. Therapy was thorough an extremely helpful. The Therapists were excellent, Sarah, Amanda, Melissa and Mike. The Nurses were excellent in administering my meds correctly and on time especially Britney! I really enjoyed attending the various activities, concerts and bingo. I was glad to be transported to each event by Nate and I enjoyed how both Nate and Janice, the Activities Director interacted with the parents! In General the entire staff from House keeping to Passing Trays we’re very polite. Not to mention how good the food tasted😋 The Nurses AIDS were very good in getting what ever was needed, Sherry stands out especially.
Do not send anyone to Concordia. My wife was doing well there until they kicked her out. They put money over care. I appealed her discharge, denied. Two days later she fell at home, now she is having brain surgery for multiple brain bleeds at Upmc Presby. They are heartless, and want money over care. If I could, I would have them shut down. They leave residents in the hall, and as they scream for help, nobody addresses it. It is hell on earth. Believe me, I’ve been there. Money rules there, not patient care
Worst place to go. I had major back surgery. I went from the hospital by ambulance. My escorts handed the front desk instructions. For three days they would not give me anything but Tylenol. The nurses kept saying your Doctor did not sign the papers. I did not know that when you go there they assign you one of their doctors. I called out for help the aids would NOT help me cause I could walk. I felt twisted in bed. On the fifth day my nurse noticed that my bed was NOT locked to the floor. I went home and the had there in home people go to my home. Kept asking question without an answer. A few weeks later an OT person came and started throwing things around my apartment. Telling me that my home was dangerous.
I would like to share how much Concordia of Monroeville helped me in the last week. After a terrible fall, and weeks in the hospital I ended up at Concordia of Monroeville for physical therapy and rehab. After receiving as much PT as possible until one of my legs healed I was moved to the personal care floor. My goal was always to move back to the PT floor once my leg healed. The magic day came when my leg was cleared for weight bearing and more aggressive 5 day PT. Therapy like this does not happen on a personal care floor. Excited, I thought it would be easy enough to move back to the third floor. Little did I know! Ryan and his team plus myself spent a morning talking to insurance which did approve the move or the PT. It was not looking good for me. Somehow, the team at Concordia was able to get approval for me to receive the PT that I need and the transfer up to the third floor. I really do not know what I would have done if they did not come through for me. I am excited to begin PT with the excellent therapists on the third floor and work on becoming independent once more. This is a life changing example of the help I have received from Concordia. But daily there are small acts of kindness from all of the staff on any floor at Concordia which greatly help anyone trying to recover from injury or illness. From a smile, a gently spoken word, an aide helping brush hair, cut up a piece of meat or fluff the pillows just right at night, these all matter when you are dependent on others for everything as I am. Thank- you Concordia!
Wonderful people. Our 85 year old mother was in both Harmony Rehab and Concordia Nursing Home Monroeville . The staff was kind and caring from the beginning. Call outs to the PT/OT staff at Harmony Rehab all treated my mother wonderful, when she was moved to the Nursing Home Building PT/Nursing staff etc all came to give her hugs and wish her well. At the Nursing Home 1st floor the staff was once again always available, kind and thoughtful. Dan specifically was above and beyond. Janice the activity director and her assistant Skylar both were super friendly and helpful with wonderful attitudes. My mom specifically enjoyed the Drumming entertainment session, the Singer who performed songs from the 50’s to the 90’s and can’t forget the Auction where each resident had 15.00 Concordia bucks to spend on a pleather of items. Thanks for everything ❤️
