My mother-in-law was at West Meade Place the summer of 2025. Having been in 3 other skilled nursing facilities, West Meade, by far, had the most caring nursing staff, physical therapy team, wound care, activities coordinator, but especially the daily care assistants that took care of her. Not only physically, but had kindness, compassion, humor and skilled knowledge greater than any facility we had been in. I cannot leave out the kindness of the receptionist, the cleaning staff, and cafeteria staff. The whole package, was amazing. It is not the most aesthetically updated facility, it is not fancy, but when it gets down to it, if I am in the most well decorated building in town, but am not getting the care I need, aesthetics are the last thing that matter. I highly recommend this place to care for your loved one whether it be short term, or long term.
The quality of care and kindness shown by the staff at West Meade Place is exceptional. Their team goes above and beyond every day—whether it’s offering a warm smile, taking extra time to make a resident comfortable, or keeping families informed with compassion and respect. The dedication and positivity of West Meade’s staff makes all the difference and I highly recommend this facility for anyone considering skilled or long-term care.
Everyone that we have met have been extremely nice. They take very good care of their patients. Very clean environment. We are very happy with them. Our family member has been there almost 3 years now.
This place is amazing! My 19 yr old son suffered an anoxic brain injury in which he spent 37 days in hospital in a ventilator and in a coma. He came to West Meade covered from fingers to toes in bed sores, still in a coma, and on a feeding tube. The first day moving in we were greeted by most of the staff, of which most had been employed here for YEARS, they have an incredibly low turn over rate!. Everyone learned my baby very quickly. The respiratory therapists and RNs are located in the halls with no offices to disappear into. When you call them they are there in moments not minutes! My boy has made so much progress here but the important thing is that the employees love thier residents like family! I visit my son at least 5 of 7 days a week, staying 5 or 6 hours per time. Over the past month I have really got to know everyone, I've seen the big picture and I rest easy at night knowing he is being cared by people who treat him like thier own child. Did I mention that all his wounds from the hospital have healed except the worst of them (Becky & Ashley are miracle workers), and not a single new sore! This place is amazing! If you must place a loved one in a facility, you will rest easy knowing they are at West Meade. Good luck in your journey, my heart and prayers are with you. Picking a facility isn't easy and very scary, let West Meade help. I have in no way been paid or benefit from this review. They didn't even ask if I would. I am reviewing purely on my own.
SO AWFUL! my mother had the unfortunate experience of staying at this place for about a month after her stroke. her level of care - or non care - was almost non-existent! very few people ever checked in on her to make sure she was doing alright. even though there was an order in her paperwork to help her while she ate, no one ever helped her! both my sister and brother in law asked them to please make sure my mom had a shower. they said they'd do it, but NEVER happened! on top of it all, my mom got covid while she was in there, and because of that, she lost roughly 5 pounds and is down to 69 pounds! she was supposed to leave that awful place but now they said she still has covid! it's been about 14 days since her first positive test. of course, they never showed us the positive test...just told us she was still positive. don't want to sound cynical, but it seems convenient that she's still positive and can't leave while at the same time, she's paying about $400/day to stay there. (i should say that my sister gave her a covid test that morning, and she was negative) if you have ANY OTHER OPTION, take it! i wish i could say anything good about this place, but it's THE WORST!!! i did give it 2 stars, though, because there are a few people who are really sweet, but they are very few and very far between!
