When my mother had to move from assisted living to skilled nursing it was a very stressful decision. It is so hard to determine what will be the best place for your loved one. Thankfully she landed at Berkeley. The nurses, CNA’s and administrators are all amazing. They have made recommendations for better care and let me know in a timely manner of any issues. I feel like they know my Mom and care for her with caring and compassion. I have peace of mind and know she is in the best of hands.

I was the primary caregiver for my great-aunt for approximately a year and a half, prior to her coming to Berkeley N.R. When it was time for us to locate a locale, long-term facility for her, I was fortunate that I remembered volunteering here over 10 years ago. From the first phone conversation with Phil (Administrator) I was treated with kindness and compassion. The second person that I encountered, when I went for a visit, was Elizabeth Morales (Admissions Director). Elizabeth’s warm spirit and wonderful assistance with the intake process, gave me confidence that this was the place for my auntie. It’s been 3 months now, and I have no complaints about anything. I can tell that my aunt is well taken care of - always clean, well fed, dressed and transferred from her room to the social room on a regular basis. She has a glow and is still just as feisty as ever. On more than one occasion, there have been CNA’s that have given me positive feedback about how they enjoy working with my aunt. The facility is very clean. Could some things use a little updating? Yes. However, on multiple visits, I have witnessed Avery (Maintenance), at work, sprucing up the facility and I can tell that he takes pride in his work. Ms. Bernado (Director of Nurses) Natasha and Lucas (😘) keep me abreast of my aunt’s dietary intake and/or medical/health concerns and Mark (Dietitian) has been open to my suggestions about her nutritional intake. I saw other reviews mentioning the “family atmosphere”, and I concur, it really feels like family here. It appears that everyone enjoys working here and with each other. I pray that the culture only gets better and that GOD will continue to bless them for their gifts of service and care that they distribute so selflessly to their precious residents. Looking for clean, professional and compassionate, long-term care facility for yourself or loved one(s)? Check out Berkeley Nursing and Rehabilitation. ❤️
