My dad was there for maybe 3 weeks. He needed hospital care and we found out that someone from the lighthouse cut his blood thinner medication and was probably the reason for the ER visit. I ask the staff at the lighthouse who would have made the decision to restrict his life given medication and the backed up and deferred blame to anyone else. They also blamed my brother saying that while my father was on a liquid restriction he was giving him drinks and he wasn't. Sadly they seem to push blame away from themselves, so be aware of their practices.
My grandma and grandpa lived at the Lighthouse until their deaths, for 5 or so years. The staff is outstanding. All of my experiences with them were positive. They were so kind and excellent at their jobs. I really felt like they cared for my grandparents, and would do anything to help our family. They accommodated our large family for holiday gatherings. If you are researching a place for your loved ones, I highly recommend the Lighthouse.
I think the lighthouse is understaffed they don't have time to do there patients justice. If you want your elderly to stay in a wheelchair send them here. The food is horrible and if you want to eat with your loved one your meal will cost you $19. Some of the staff is awesome and others can't take the time.
What an unfortunate experience. The staff does not listen to their patients at all. My mom was there less that 72 hours when she experienced a fall resulting in a significant injury and setting her back on her physical therapy journey! The staff is not compassionate at all. Read the state “fall rates” before you put a loved one here! I wish we would have!
The staff were kind to our friend we visited over lunch on a Sunday. The atmosphere here was serene, clean, and pleasant. They served our friend a fried chicken patty meal. The residents were given water and one of the ladies brought us a glass of water when asked.
