I’m not happy here. It takes forever for someone to come to you. Some of the food is ok like their cheeseburgers and shepherds pie. Maryann does a great job to keep everyone happy. She is really pleasant. My tea is always look warm. I like it hot. My standard order is tea and water with every meal. Bathroom way too small when you have a broken hip and wrist. Hard to turn around. The bed is smaller than me. My heels hit the foot board and get sore and red. The did give me these I call them moon boots. But my feet get sweat. I think this place needs to be upgraded. I wish I was sent to the Whittier Rehab. I have been here since Christmas Eve. The chairs in this room are so uncomfortable they need something soft that reclines. I would be able to sit up more. They don’t do a couple of my meds. They just don’t get it. I’m on the medical ashford method. There is so much more but I’m working with one hand and I’m tired. I at Bear Mountain in Andover MA. Just keep in mind with a loved one that needs to be in a nursing home or a nursing home for a short time that you check it out with an ask every question you can think of happy new year everybody

My family was recommended this place for hospice for my grandfather. Now that he has been moved to an actual hospice with people who care I can strongly say never EVER put someone at bear mountain for hospice . His first room he was placed in was atrocious holes in the wall , light fixture on the ceiling was missing the cover , the lamp was missing the light bulbs. We were told there would be a hospice nurse on staff at all times which was false. The second room he was moved to was much bigger but still had a hole in the wall. When I brought attention to it I was asked and i quote “ is it bothering you or him?” End quote . I could hear the neighboring rooms TV through the hole in the wall. This place was recommended by someone named Cindy at melrose Wakefield hospital. One nurse was rough with my grandfather her name was Helen. Some of the other nurses have no common sense or respect for other patients trying to sleep they talk super loud . They did no brush his teeth like they were supposed to. When I would walk to the nurses station across from his room to ask a question or get him water I was greeted with “what does he need now?” From a nurse . Which is absolutely disgusting. Maintenance men would walk in the room without knocking to look in his bathroom. When I wrote a prior review about this place the nurses would talk to my family about it. Which in turn I should have waited but now that he has been moved to an actual hospice with people who have a passion for caring for people I can say don’t ever put your loved one here for ANYTHING. It’s absolutely horrible . This place is a scam for how much it is a month . They don’t care . RUN!!

Bear Mountain in Reading is a great facility. All of the staff gets to know who the patients and truly cares about them. Even the higher ups know who you are, which I've never seen happen in other rehabs I've been in. I've been in here once before on the rehab floor, and fought to get back in here again. I am currently a patient here, and I ended up with a severely low blood sugar, I am I brittle diabetic, and they were able to take care of me without having to call an ambulance. The staff went into action to do what was necessary to raise my blood sugar. Where a lot of facilities would have sent me out to the hospital. And I know that most people hate the hospital just as much as I do. The food is also very good, not like you'd expect in this kind of place. They also have plenty of activities going on constantly. So I would say if you're looking for a longer term rehab I would definitely recommend Bear Mountain in Reading.

Badly understaffed, especially on weekends. Bedridden patients can wait more than an hour when the change of a diaper is needed, and includes a diabetic with very tender and sore skin because she is sitting in a BM diaper. The staff is even rude about changing her. They are paying so little (same wages as McDonalds an RN told me) that the CNA's are registered with Temp Agencies, and are calling in sick to take a shift at another facility through the Temp Agency. The payoff for the CNA? The Temp Agency pays twice the hourly wage, and the CNAs are given a $100 bonus for the shift. Why do those skilled in custodial care not earn significantly more at Bear Mountain, caring for bedridden patients, than by working at McDonalds and why is Bear Mountain not competitive with Temp Agencies? Why is this business apparently paying so little? The few employees there on weekends are overburdened; patient care is lacking. Would you want to sit in your own feces in a diaper for over an hour because they had no time to take you to the toilet or change your diaper? They operate with one CNA for 24 patients and too often the CNA's are rude to the patients. One patient was told to 'go to sleep an to not ring that bell again!' after she was finally changed and it was only 8 PM. This is no place for anyone's loved one. I repeat--would you want to sit in a feces filled diaper for over an hour because the staff had no time to help you get to the toilet and no time to change you after a bowel movement?

I visited my brother in law today and he said he requested for a diaper changed at 12:00 pm and we came at 2:15 pm it is still not done! Imagine you can move and have to wear diaper and how uncomfortable it would be. This is the latest incident that we observe and i feel the need to say something.
