My mom was a resident at Pomeroy for 8 years. She always enjoyed her time there. The staff was always helpful and she received special care and love from Kathy (CNA) and Joy (Nurse). She loved playing Bingo and made lots of friends during activity time. When Covid hit, all the residents were well cared for. I would visit my mom by seeing her through the window. I am glad i chose Pomeroy for my mom to live out her final years.
My mother-in-law was at Pomeroy 8 years. She passed at 102 years old. She had a wonderful time there. She was busy with physical therapy, getting her hair done, nails polished, bingo, and enjoying all the planned activities. She especially enjoyed all the holiday festivities. We were always notified if there was a minor issue. Staff were excellent. Some of the staff even came to my mother-in-law’s funeral after her 8 year stay. We as a family highly recommend Pomeroy for your loved one!
My Dad is currently staying here after his almost 2 week hospitalization. So far everyone has been really nice and accommodating! It is very clean & the food is good according to my Dad. The nurses are always there to answer my questions. Courtney in therapy is great! She pushes him just enough & always listens to what his needs are. The aides always try to make sure my Dad is comfortable and has everything he needs! So far I couldn’t ask for better care for my Dad! Would recommend this place to anyone in need. Will update my review once we are all done.
The therapists are excellent, both Lisa and Anna. The food wasn’t the best, breakfast was alright. Very clean and room was quiet. All the nurses and aides are very nice and helpful. The location was very convenient since I live in the community. I would have liked to see the doctors more. The courtyard is beautiful, I enjoyed being outdoors.
I'm only leaving 2 stars because of the PT/OT team and a nurse, Magnus. Let's start with the good: the facility is very clean, the food is decent, it's a secure bldg and the receptionists are great. The PT/OT team and the nurse who was my mom's primary nurse, Magnus, were EXCELLENT. Shakira (receptionist), Vaughn (Aide) and Chris (male nurse) were great as well. Now for the bad: The social worker Antika Dutta and her manager Bonita were the worst/bordering on incompetent. In Antika's defense, she is a recent grad and if supervised properly, could have been acceptable, but Bonita is lazy and doesn't give Antika any supervision or oversight. Bonita also has a very bad attitude. When you call to leave a vm for Antika, it's someone else's name and voice and she always claimed to have not received our voicemails. She failed to do FAMILY conf calls to discuss plan of care and instead lazily did plan of care mtgs directly with my mom who has documented dementia. Antika completely missed the ball with my mom's discharge plan, which caused us a lot of anxiety and grief. She is too junior and lacking in experience to be in this role and makes it worse by her lack of self awareness around her shortcomings. It was a complete nightmare dealing with Antika and Bonita and we will be filing complaints with the State Licensing Board for Social Workers. Other than Magnus, the rest of the nursing staff was hit or niss I would recommend this place (in comparison to others) if you don't need any assistance from the social workers.
