For the first two nights of Mom’s stay, pebbles were strewn across her room for her to step on. On the second night she did step on them and broke her ankle. When I arrived her foot was very swollen. They had her sitting in a wheelchair, her ankle was not elevated, it was not iced, and she had been given NOTHING for pain. It was disastrous. I was told the pebbles were collected from the back employee parking lot. So it had to be an employee trying to hurt my Mom. I announced if they didn’t call for an ambulance immediately, I would. We never returned. RH Acute Care was A+ and I highly recommend them. Beware of Westminster. The management won’t even comment even though Mom was horrendously handled.
DO NOT let anyone near this place! I have been an advocate for a good friend who is a patient and she would be better by herself at home than this place! It took over 2 hours for her to get any pain medication after asking for it. This place is a complete circus. Most people who work here are nasty and have an attitude. I asked for ice for her ice machine and I would get a look. Not one word of kindness from these people. Yucky!
I beg of you if you are considering this place for rehab turn the other way! What was supposed to be 14 days of rehab for my nana ended up being where she would pass from neglect!!! I would go every day to visit and after just a few days of her residing at the rehabilitation center I realized she was showing symptoms of a UTI. As anyone knows especially in the health field uti’s are very dangerous especially if they go untreated. I immediately knew what was going on so I notified the nurse who assured me they would go ahead and treat her then test her for it, that was on a Sunday. I followed up that Wednesday and realized she wasn’t any better in fact she was worse so I spoke with another nurse requesting to speak with the doctor whom conveniently was unavailable. I voiced my concerns again and they assured me that she had been treated. I got a call Friday night from a nurse who was covering that typically doesn’t even work on that floor and she informed me they had rushed her to the hospital that she was not OK. I asked could she pull her records and tell me if she had been treated for a UTI and what do you know not one treatment whatsoever! By the time I got to the hospital she was going downhill very quickly( septic ) and by Monday she was deceased. This was just a brief summary of the details but enough to warn you this is no place for care!!!
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. Staff here assaulted my elderly grandmother. Please do NOT take any of your loved ones here. They sedate their patients and are rude to visitors and that’s the very least of it. Please don’t take your family here.
