HORRIBLE keep your family away from this place my mom visited for respite care total mistake on my part due to the place not being clean and no STAFF present when I toured with Shannon in admissions she showed me a nicely upkept version of a wing they supposedly used for COVID but assured me that all their rooms were similar TOTAL LIE !!!!!! when we got her there nothing was in place to welcome my mom Shannon also told me she would be there to greet us and the only person in the building was the DON! We left on a Thursday and returned on Sunday she had the same G-tube dressing from Thursday still on her but with stains from her feeding. She also had a T-shirt missing and they were purposely avoiding me over just SAD!!!! So when placing a loved one in the care of others just please take time to look into the facility. I’m fortunate my mom is able to live with me and I understand everyone’s situation is not the same my every moment when I left her at St Johns Place I was thinking of if shes getting the proper care so I had people going to check on her jus to make sure. I jus that’s what $210 dollars a day gets you😡 They also refused to give her a shower😡😡😡
My mother was a resident there twice after a major car accident. She received excellent care and recovered quickly. The staff went above and beyond to tend to her needs and my needs. Therapy was awesome in her recovery. The nurses, CNAs and housekeepers are very attentive to all the residents. My mom made friends and remains close to the other residents. The staff made her discharge home seamless.
If you truly love your love ones please do not send them here. If I could give them a 0 rating I would. They are big liars and I don't trust anything they say. They have a good way of convincing you to bring your loves one to their facility. But when you get there things change. You realize they really don't care and it's all about the money not your love one care. One day My father was in alot of pain I went to the front desk and asked Antonia the nurse if she would give him something for pain she said when she get a chance. 15 min later she hadn't come. Rang the bell 10 min later she came with a very mean look on her face and said I told you I'd give it to him when I get a chance. She left out and 15 min later she came with the medicine. My father got really bad bed soars we would not have known this if my sister had not watch them change my dad. The aid looked real surprised like she didn't know he had them. It would take a long time for the nurses to change him. He would sit in his urine for hours. I could go on and on about how HORRIBLE this place is but I'll stop right here. I hope and pray this helped someone in their decision. My father passed away in a very unpleasant place.
It took only a few hours of my mother being placed here before I realized that we had made an AWFUL mistake in choosing this facility. I, myself, had only been there 20 minutes when my mother asked for an additional pillow. When I approached the desk and explained the situation to an employee a woman to whom had her back to me turned around and in a very rude, loud, and unprofessional tone/manner began bombarding me with questions about who my mother was, what she needed the pillow for, etc. After I answered all questions, the rude nurse (who, might I add, is one of the supervising nurses) told me in quite a belligerent manner, that my mom "already had enough pillows". Although upset, I went back to my mother's room. About 10 minutes later the nurse came into the room and seemed quite upset. She began raising her voice so I asked if we could go discuss the matter elsewhere to avoid disrupting the patients. She said we could "go outside" as if she was intending to get in a physical altercation. I ignored her absurd claim which seemingly made her more upset. Next thing I knew the police were there. The officers (who were polite and later admitted to being used to getting calls to come to the nursing home) escorted me out. On the way out numerous employees yelled things at me about "never being able to come back" and "never seeing my mother again". It was the most outrageous and unprofessional experience in my life. It has been about a month and still no one has reached out to talk to me about the event that took place. I understand that this kind of career is by no means easy and that the staff probably poorly paid, however I feel that part of their job is to facilitate the process for all parties and understand that it is stressful for patients and their families. Thank the Lord that my mother did not die in this facility, otherwise I may have never seen her again, which obviously was 100% fine to the staff at St. John's Place. IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER YOU WILL NOT LET THEM STEP ONE FOOT INTO THIS FACILITY!!!
I visited a family friend and the staff was loving. The nurse on day shift was very supportive and the CNAS were awesome, they kept checking on my friend although the time I was there especially Katie and the other young lady.
