My father had a stroke, went to rehab and fell in the rehab facility, fracturing his hip. He had been living four hours away from me. For post-operative rehab, he had to be closer so I would be able to help him. A friend's mother had been at Morningside and she was happy with the care provided. My mother was at a different North Shore Health Care facility and the care was excellent. Although I did not tour the facility prior to admission, my decision was good one. The building itself has deferred maintenance and needs an update. However, the staff are outstanding. The director of nursing is smart and a strong leader. Licensed staff are experienced, kind, and knowledgeable. CNAs are experienced and kind. Staff work together well. My father was a chef so it was a given he would hate the food; however, he is eating it and complaints have been minimal. The food smells good and looks appetizing. Staff respect my father's belongings. Nothing has been lost or ruined. The facility has transportation for resident medical appointments. It's convenient for me because it means I don't have to call a separate transport service. Occupational, physical and occupational therapies are contracted. I had a minor issue with lack of communication from therapists and it was quickly resolved. My father's discharge plan is assisted living. If that plan would change, I would be comfortable having my father reside at Morningside.
Staff is very responsive to our family needs and very friendly and welcoming. Have had experience with several nursing homes over the last 4 years and this was by far our best experience.
My Mother has been here for 5 years and the staff have been very kind to her. Her room is always clean and my sisters and brother, as is my Mother, very happy to be there.
Pictures, look very nice, wish I new when and where they were taken. Food is terrible. Help is non caring and gossips about one patient to another patient. Smells like urine when walking to room.
My mom was there for a month after a fall. Very nice place and everyone was so wonderful. I have not one bad thing to say
